Is everyone keeping these, selling them, a spare one for their mother-in-law?
My guess is that different people will have different responses and that you will not receive a statistically significant sample size in responses to extract anything resembling meaningful insight. As a matter of fact, I am the first person to reply to you and I'm guessing you will have fewer than five people directly answer your query.

That said, I will point out that the demographic of early iPad buyers would not lead anyone into the conclusion that this buying audience would need to resell used devices to fund purchases of new ones. The median income of the early iPad adopters was something like over $100,000. I consider the readership demographic of this blog to be materially different than the average Apple customer.

Plus, the number of used iPads for sale is a miniscule fraction of the total number sold.

Personally, I will gift my original iPad to relatives whom I expect will use it for many, many years. Much like my 12" PowerBook G4 is still being used by a family member, something like seven years after I bought it. There's your sample size of one.

Audio in/out IS the "headset jack". You can plug in the iphone headset and the mac will recognize both the mic and headphones.

Just having beat Portal 2 on my 11" MBA with a 1.6ghz core 2 duo and the 320m, playing it on max settings, native resolution at ~40fps was GREAT.


This isn't possible on the Intel graphics, it'd tip just below smoothly playable at these settings. The CPU is barely a bottleneck, seriously. What other 11" device can run a modern game maxed out?! Thank god for the Source engine, and for Apple's 320M+C2D choice.

WTF is your friend smoking, they are still there. Unless of course I been smoking something even more intense. A quick look at the spec site on Apple website and looking at my 2011 17" MBP suggest you two needa sober up.

I just use map quest application. It is a free application and offers voice-based turn by turn directions with street names and all. Traffic updates really aren't worth the extra $40 if you ask me. And half the time I shut off the screen and just listen to the voice direction to save battery life, so 3D maps are a mute point with me...
I use the MapQuest app as well but I do miss all of the other functions and features of a full fledged Navigation app/device.


Anyone know if there is a jailbreak version of this app or will it not work because it is authenticated on the server side?
If you're asking if there is a cracked version of Streetpilot then yes, it's out there and no, no one here will help you find it. MR doesn't condone piracy, even for trial usage.

Apple won't use 10.4.10, it doesn't look elegant.

if people are constantly being told that this music, is the new thing, then sooner or later they will buy it. rather then making music a personal choice, they buy what ever is on radio.

I found this interesting, apparently people can't buy an iphone online from AT&T delivered to NY. However, you can still get it at stores.

i predict a 10" (or similarly small size) macbook, along with core 2 bumps for the macbook pro. i predict the 10" or such b/c a friend of mine (who has big connections in the 'tech world' (he is an IT director and somehow magically knows a lot of people in the 'tech world' (like he implimented a wireless network before there was wireless networking, he got some pre-production 802.11b gear before it was standardized, he also did the same thing with a gigabit router)) anyway, he told me he has been demoing a 10" mac laptop. and i was just like 'sure whatever you say' (cause sometimes this guy can be completely full of *hit.) but he eventually convinced me that he has actually seen some 10" mac laptop demo computer somewhere. im still pretty skeptical about it, but this guy is a big mac hater, so the only reason he would try it is if it was some 10" super portable machine. b/c he does LOVE ultra portable laptops, and he is kinda getting a liking for mac, only because he can run windows on it! (though he has yet to actually purchase a mac)
