In India, politics have been used to amass money, wealth and YSR has used his position for killings, land grabbing, scams etc.,

Make money the right way, no one stops any one. Where is the end to corrupt means? Yesterday YSR, today his Son. The biggest problem today India is facing is, people involved in policy making deeply submerged in corruption.

Hello Sir/Madam,

Recently I have E-Filed for EAD renew and have sent all the supporting documents the following day. But I have recieved an RFE for the photos I haven't sent along with the documents and asked me submit 2 color passport photos. It was my understading that I don't have to send the photos while E-filing since they will be taken at the bio-metric appt. I am done with my bio-metric appt. Do i need to contact USCIS about this or is there any thing you can suggest me.

The focus is shifting from housing to economy and jobs. With 500,000+ applying jobless claims in a week is horrific. People will soon be thinking 'can we send 10+ million illegal immigrants and 1+ million legal immigrants back home to get jobs for local people'. I find it would be tough now to sell the idea that immigrants can save the economy by buying house. If some bright politician gets the idea 'why not send the immigrants home and create jobs' we all will be in trouble. :(

Dont worry dude.my pd is eb2 Jul07 and my L1 expired in Dec.My company applied for my H1 in sep 09 and it was approved in 3 weeks without RFE. Some of my friends in consulting got RFEs for renewal but was eventually approved atleast until the date of contract.

My priority date is Aug 11 , 2006(EB2) and my 6 year H1B ends Sept 2011. Is there any chance the priority dates will move to Aug 2006 levels in FY2010? Or in FY2011? I am really worried because these days people are getting rejections for H1 renewals. When my time comes for renewal I want to have the EAD as a backup in case H1 renewal gets rejected.

Please let me know your thoughts on movement to Aug 2006 before Sept 2011.

Dear Reporter/ Senator/ Congressman,

I am an immigrant who entered this country legally. I�ve been waiting for my US permanent resident visa -also known as green card for the past several years along with 500,000 other educated, highly skilled employment based (EB) immigrants. Many of us have been waiting for our turn to get the green card for 5-10 years while consistently abiding by all the laws of this country. Such long delays are due to tortuous and confusing paper work, back logs due to various quotas and processing delays at US Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS).

Several categories of EB immigrant visa numbers have been unavailable (�retrogressed�) since the fall of 2005. Because our immigrant petitions are tied to the sponsoring employer, for many of us these delays have led to indentured servitude. Our professional prospects, job mobility and potential opportunities for entrepreneurship have been shattered.

For the past several decades, the US Department of State (DOS) has been publishing advisories known as visa bulletins once a month to announce the availability of immigrant .visa numbers. On June 13, 2007, after a gap of nearly two years, DOS announced that all EB visa numbers would be �current� for the month of July. This meant, irrespective of our �priority date�, all of us were made eligible to apply for some interim immigration benefits. This �priority date� refers to the date when our labor certification (documentation verifying no US citizen worker was available for a given job) had been filed.

This announcement by DOS on 6/13/2007 would not have led to immediate green card for most of us; but at least it would have ensured us interim benefits such as job mobility, some freedom from the employer, work authorization for our spouses and a travel authorization known as �advance parole�. This authorization would allow us to travel outside US without fear of not being able to re-enter the country.

We spent thousands of dollars in legal fees, immigration medical exams, vaccinations, blood tests, x-rays and getting various supporting documents ready to file our immigrant petitions to USCIS. It has been an agonizing two weeks for us. Some of us to had to fly in our spouses from our native countries. To our shock and dismay, on the morning of July 2nd 2007, USCIS announced that EB visa numbers were not available and all our petitions would be rejected. Within a span of 2 weeks, to be precise -in 12 working days- USCIS claims to have approved 60,000 EB immigrant visa petitions. This unprecedented rapid action of USCIS has led to exhaustion of all the available visa numbers for this fiscal year. Meanwhile it is prognosticated that in the next fiscal year which begins on October 1, 2007 our plight and delays would actually worsen.

Interestingly USCIS has never processed so many applications this fast, and it is unclear why they did not convey this potential exhaustion of visa numbers to DOS before June 13, 2007.

For the legal skilled immigrants this has been a rather traumatizing and disheartening experience.

We sincerely seek immediate congressional/ legislative remedial measures which would
(1)Reduce the enormous backlogs of green card petitions of legal skilled immigrants
(2)Ensure and enable USCIS not to reject our immigrant visa petitions and give us interim benefits of a pending immigrant visa petition.We make this sincere request on this Independence Day with the hope that people who played by the rules will be rewarded.

You think you are here because of your merit. It is not my friend. My relative, who is a Doctor came here in 1940's and did higher studies, have to return back to India, because at that time USA will not give permanent residency to Indian citizens. Only whites will get GC during that period.
Only after 1965 GC is offereed to every one irrespective of color.

Government of India is not able to help honest, sincere tax payers particularly middle class families in the matter of providing quality Education, Healthcare for their families at reasonable cost. Education and Medical have become Biggest Money spinning businesses in India now. One has to shell out Rs. 30 to 50 Lakhs for a MBBS seat and about Rs. 5 to Rs.10 Lakhs for an Engineering seat in good colleges. How can middle class people can pay this money?. The amount to be spend after death in India now comes to Lakhs of Rupees for doing all types of cermonies, merging ashes in Ganga at Varanasi and other holy places, giving gifts/charities to pandits, giving advertisements in newspapers, arranging feasts BHOJANALU to thousands of people (so called relatives), friends. This is in addition to LARGE SUMS OF MONEY PAID TO DOCTORS FOR SO CALLED CURING OF SICKNESS.
In many cases, many middle class people becomes BEGGERS/PAUPERS after getting into hospitals, nursing homes etc. just before dyeing.

I really doubt whether any attorney knows how many total VISAS are there for EB1 + EB2 for the fiscal year 2008. On this total EB1 + EB2 we got an estimation based on our calculations in our privious posts.

And that was because I saw some people posting misleading information about the Sri Lankan war and I wanted everyone to see at least what I consider to be the real situation. On a side note:
Kashmir Hindus were ousted by Muslims. Even during the recent Mumbai attacks perpetrators gave a interview to the news channel saying that it is an attack on the Hindu India.

Good strategy. Need to make sure all EB provisions are still intact in these reforms targetted for spring & Summer of this year.

How can we find out if EB provisions are there?

It is sad to lose a leader who got elected democratically.
It was also sad that few people who could support SRK (does that related to our immigration issue :confused:) but comfortably felt that missing YSR is not as important as SRK.
