You're right in a way. You can use the Linksys and extend via ethernet to the AP express to extend it. OR... you can buy 2 APEs and have one be the WIFI.. and then the 2nd one would just extend from the 1st one. It's super easy to setup with the software on the mac!
Lady Gaga shows off her YSLThanks for the review. I was considering getting a Shuffle, but now that you mention it, maybe I'll get both the Mini and Shuffle :D I need a flash drive, too, so that probably makes sense.
wearing round sunglassesThe mail function returns a success or denied variable. Both function calls were fine. I have had issues sending mail to gmail before. I can't remember what I did to fix it. I'm thinking it was something with the headers but it may have been with the server.

MySpace always crashes for me and it gets really annoying. I was hoping for a fix a while ago, but it never came. :(
more...Lady GaGa NewsletterBecause they are using the illegal tethering issue to force people off grandfathered unlimited data plans. And to collect the legal tethering fees. You just put a block on there and they've got no leverage.
Lady GaGa Newslettersomeone submitted a track off this album to DailyTunes a while back, and I refused to post it thinking it was a joke, like the person who submitted a track from the fart album. Agreed, it's different, but not in a good way. This album is a prime example of a middle-aged person living in mom's basement and collecting computer parts and recording equipment. Now he has an outlet for selling the 'songs' to fund his growing collection. :D

more...Round sunglasses areLast week, my airport express went from awesome (~80% signal strength to my iMac, great speed) to sucktacular (~5% signal strength, terrible speed, when it worked at all). An investigation revealed that a visitor had unplugged the airport, and had stuck it in a power bar between two brick power adaptors (one for the cable modem, and the other for the charging station for some wireless headphones). Obviously, the interference and shielding from those two angry spools of copper were causing the problem - a quick relocate to the original outlet restored my signal to its earlier levels. Dunno if you have the same problem, but if you do, its a quick fix :)

lady gaga polaroid glasses.Well I just broke down and bought the Kinect bundle and spent $100 more than I wanted to, but oh well. I'll give it a shot and if I hate it as much as I think I will I'll just sell it or something.
I still hate bundles.

Lady GaGa NewsletterYeah, the Northern Line has always been quite good. It was also one of the most reliable.
Metropolitan line is definitely the most ghetto. It's so 3rd world.
Heidi Klum SunglassesBeen in the process of ripping and encoding my DVD collection to the Mini for about a month now. Have been using Handbrake only to do the entire process so far, and usually can only get about 3 a day after work.
Today decided to try Rip It to pre-rip a bunch and the queue them up in Handbrake so I can leave it running. The Rip It part has gone really well as I ripped 15 DVD's in a row in a matter of hours.
But now have started the encoding part, and Handbrake is crawling!:(
When I was using Handbrake for the entire process I was averaging around 30 fps. But now I have all rips queued up and the first is doing around 10 fps! What's the deal? I figured it would be faster encoding from HD instead of DVD.
Also tried to encode Hunt for Red October and it says "Suspected RCE Region 1". Is there any way to remove the region from ripped file?
Hopefully someone has been through this before and can help me out.

I am planning to Switch (upgrade) from PC to Mac but I still need to run some PC programs.
The only thing I hear about Virtual PC is that its terrible slow.
I am planning to put 2 Gigas of ram on my new Imac 20".
1 giga dedicated to the Virtual PC.
Does anybody has an experience if by doing this I should see a lot of performace Gain on Virtual PC?
Iam not planning to run games just normal applications (some design an graphics) but I need to run them on PC envieroment to ensure compatibility.
Thanks in advance for advice.
What graphics programs do you need to run on the PC side? Chances are it's something that requires a lot of power - meaning it's probably going to be ridiculously slow.
My guess is that you'll be better off designing in OS X. Then you can test the file (or whatever you need to do) in Virtual PC to ensure compatibility.
Work and the World Cup will keep me pretty well occupied until Thursday. And this site of course.

The "HasShadow property is obsolete" message is harmless. It's there to tell whoever wrote the program that's generating the message to update their code to conform to Apple's guidelines.
EDIT: I happen to know that ATY is ATI's internal code for their graphics cards. Perhaps the graphics card in your iBook is dying.
Have you checked the directory permissions? By default, your Documents directory is set to only be readable by you (for security on your local machine).
Try chmodding that sucker...
[edit: Nevermind. :)]
Just curious. I got my new pb and am overall very very happy with it. But i am a biologist and work that i do requires up close scrutinay of several photographs. These horizontal lines make that very annoying. If this is a software problem i wont be that discouraged, but if it is hardware i may have to get a pre-october refurb. Anyone have any insight into this issue?
Another possibility is that the problem is in the wetware. Some uses see it others don't. It might be that some hardware has it. It might be that Apple had it in the initial machines but not now. I say that because I just got a PowerBook 15" and the screen is beautiful. No lines. No flicker. No waves. Bright and crisp. I love it.
