Thats a good question. Would it still be considered valid if we mailed the documents on Friday so that it reaches them Saturday. They'd still be opening the mail on Monday July 2nd. I have a feeling that would be too late. Any others in the same boat ?

I believe you are in New York. Next time try the direct flight from Mumbai to Newark. I heard thats the best my friend just tried it and he was going gaga about it. I am sure your inlaws can manage Chennai to Mumbai. What are the chances u can find someone who can speak Tamil ,Telgu in Mumbai than in Brussles or any other stopoever in Europe. :-)

Air India (direct Mumbai to JFK) is Rs 70,000 INR and Jet Airways is giving promotional offer rs 47,000 INR in January 2nd week, which is peak season.

Lufthansa, Emirates, KLM are all in Rs 57,000 to Rs 65,000 INR range.

Only thing we are worried about is connecting in Burssels, I guess that should be fine if we ask for a wheelchair.

our paroles were updated on the website as being mailed on sept26, we still haven't received them but we did receive ead cards which were approved on sept 28. No sign or notice of AP yet

When is it scheduled to publish? My guess is EB2 would move towards end of 2001 and slight or no movement in EB3.

Guys, I filed my I-131 online and I got receipt number LINxxx for Nebraska service center even though I reside and work in NorthEast region for which service center is Texas. My 485 application is pending at Nebraska center, so that might be the reason I got a receipt number for Nebraska center. On the confirmation reciept Nebraska center's address is listed for sending required documents.
I am not sure if I need to send the documents to Nebraska or Texas (as my residence falls under this center).

Could some knowledgable member throw some light on this?

Also, address is P.O.Box address, so can I use FedEx to send my documents or do I need to use USPS.

Reply would be greatly appreciated.

This is unlikely to be true. The dependent's VISA status is connected to the primary's VISA status. When the poster leaves for India permanently, by which I assume that she quits her job in US, she stops maintaining H1-B status, which means her dependent's H-4 status becomes void.

So basically her husband cannot legally stay in US in his current status if the OP leaves.

In my view it is risky to change employer when I-140 is pending....it is my suggestion only...talk to your attorney

your thoughts of rally was discussed, but unfortunately the numbers are not quiet adding up as it did during the July 2007 fiasco.

As per what I learned from that discussion was when IV sees the "thousands" as per your quote they are willing to support the rally idea. Otherwise, it may not make the noise as we expect it to do.

Yes, I agree with IV core's line of thought in the "rally" idea. I too wish we can do a "rally" but...:-(

I think we should have a rally or some major IV activity. In this case everybody would get together and for every next activity we may be able to see 10% more members. We should start with a smaller number and then grow bigger. (just a thought)
