Same problem with the cover on the 17" PBook, but a Swiss Army knife blade works very nicely wgen you haven't got the right driver.
Jesse McCartney performedfolder enhancer is pretty nice
Which one is the best? There are three that I can see. Free, 99, & $1.49.
My favorite is NoLock. I do not have to swipe to turn my ipad or iphone on. VERY cool. To me, this one app is the single main reason to JB. Apple should give us the option to swipe or not...it's a fundamental flaw IMHO.
Sbsettings, as others have mention, is indispensable, if only for the quick access to brightness. Also, to 2x tap the status bar to switch programs is critical to avoid using the annoying home button popper.
Infinidock is awesome.
MyWi - pretty obvious how important it is to share my signal with my other devices.
more...who Jesse McCartney is.I'd have to say The Allman Brothers Band. It's more like ensemble instrumental, but they can sure pull them off!
Jesse McCartneyThis will NOT work for "any iPhone/iPod touch." This needs to be made clear for anybody who thinks this is a one-size-fits-all solution for everybody.
Apple cryptographically "signs" firmware releases these days. This happens during the restore process, and unless Apple signs off on the restore, you'll get an error message. Even if you could bypass the error message, without the signatures specific to your device for that iOS version, your device would never boot up.
Apple prevents downgrades by refusing to sign anything but the latest version of software. This is where Saurik's SHSH collector and TSS server come into play, for those that take advantage of his services.
The reason it worked for YOU is because you have a second-generation iPod touch and you were downgrading to something less than 4.0. Apple didn't start using device-specific (ECID-based) SHSHs until 3.x on iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 3rd-gen, and 4.x on all other devices that support 4.x (including iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2nd-gen). So, unless you are collecting your SHSHs for each Apple software release, if you are on 4.2.1 on your iPod touch, you would be able to downgrade to 2.1.1 like you did, but you would not be able to downgrade to 4.1 or 4.0.
Also, you didn't technically need iREB for this. All you used iREB for was to get the iPod into DFU mode. You can do that yourself, manually, using the power and home buttons...instructions for doing so are in abundance on-line.
If you have an iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPod touch 3rd-gen, or iPod touch 4th-gen, you can't downgrade to any release without the corresponding SHSH for your device. Period.

There's a risk that the :apple:-logo will break. Make sure it's protected. How much does your head weigh, btw?
I don't know how much my head weighs. Can I break the screen? I can put the laptop in my backpack, its mesh and only has a padded back.

I've had no issues with SL like you're describing, including the applications you've mentioned. Remember that crashing issues may or may not be related to the OS... there's as good a chance of the software application in question being at fault as SL.

I just bought a white iPhone (even though I have a black one & hate white). The reason is due to its greatly improved new antenna. The white is thicker due to the improved antenna.
When compared to the brand new black one my brother got, the white is far better. The difference is so dramatic, nothings been changed on the Antennagate black phone. That's a total shame.
I was shocked, yet happy I could finally buy an iPhone 4 I'm happy with. One that has a good useable phone that doesn't drop calls or break up.
My black Speck Pixel Skin case fits good since it was a bit loose on my black one.
I'm so relieved and happy to have a great iPhone now.
Jesse McCartney - DepartureWasteland serves two main purposes. One, as an example to others. Two, so that people know where their threads have gone. It takes about five seconds to move a thread in there.
In many cases, deleting threads can make more work because the thread starter can often contact mods asking where their thread has disappeared to.
good answer ... I never looked at it that way.
OK then ... more useless threads put straight into wasteland.
more...Jesse McCartney – LeavinOk, as of today there are no iPod minis at Circuit City or Sharper Image (at least here in Phoenix anyway) and I had found one on PowerMax's website, but they were already sold out of them before I could order one. I had started a deal with another member here, but his unit needed the battery replaced and couldn't have it done and sent to me before next Thursday (that's when I need it). So that said, is there anyone else here who would like to sell me their iPod mini (any color)? If there are any takers, I can send you money via PayPal today if you can ship it today or tomorrow.
Thanks!
at the store that i work at we still have them, they are 250CAD for them though

is that app compatible with the version of iOS running on your Touch ?
more...JESSE MCCARTNEYWould I notice any bump in speed for graphics programs? (My desktop has been reliable but occasionally quirky).I was using a 12" 1.33GHz PB and then got the 20" 2.0GHz iMacG5... I only do a mild bit of photoshop fiddling and I could notice a definite difference.
I love this machine, *sigh* I'm typing on it right now! I would definitely recommend it.

Basically you are freeing memory you did not malloc/calloc. Your double returnElement within the last loop is requesting space to store a double. This will be on the stack. You are not mallocing or callocing the space for this double (if you did it'd be in the heap). You then memcpy into this space (which is fine: you are allowed to do that). You then free the space that is on the stack. You can't do that. You can't free on the stack. That is automatically done when the current stack frame is popped.
If that doesn't make sense (if you don't know what the heap and stack are for example) it's time to learn basic C properly...

I want to give a Mac mini away for a couple of days to someone who would want to play with Mac for the first time. Is there a way to return OS X to a state where you find it straight after fresh OS X installation when Mac needs to be taken through registration process, given name, etc.
I want to install all the accompanying software like iLife'05 and apply all the recent OS and iLife updates and then "reset/deauthorise" OS X so that the new user did not have to install apps and download updates the first thing after powering the Mac up and going online.
If you are familiar with what sysprep does to Windows, that's what I am looking for Mac OS X.
I assume the process should include removing all the user accounts, deleting assigned Mac name and kicking in a registration app at startup.
I just hope one does not need to buy OS X server for that!
I know there's an invisible file called .AppleSetupDone that controls whether or not the setup assistant runs (if it's there, boot normally; if it isn't, run the setup assistant). However, I don't know where it's located, nor can I search for it since I'm not at my Mac right now. Since it's really only a flag file, it's probably VERY small (less than 1 KB).

Hi there,
I am trying to transfer my mum and dads VHSC tapes to my mac to then edit and burn onto dvd. I have the camcorder still however the only outputs in the camera are edit, audio (white), RF DC OUT, and Video (yellow). I do also have the video adapter where you put the VHSC tapes into and play it in a VHS player. However the tv/video combo I have only has one scart and aerial output and is the vhs player I have. I do also have a mini DV camcorder with the DV output to firewire cable. Is there anyway I can hook any of these devices with another tv or straight to laptop without spending anymore money please, as I am a student and cant avoid anymore equipment. Any help and guidance appreciated, if you need anymore info please let me know.
Amy :)

I'm with the others here. Spymac has really lost it, big time! I don't even have it bookmarked anymore. I hope MR never turns the same way...
We're about 30 mins away. Their employees have been coming out periodically taking pictures and giving out water bottles.
The best part is Alan (kid with the fro) has been telling anyone thats asked us why we're waiting in line is that Abercrombie is looking for new models. None of us are exactly "model material" but alotta people have been going along with it. There'll be a video up later tonight, it's priceless! :D

most schools won't let you set up your own wireless network. it's usually in the IT user agreement.
Sure, but he's going to set one up.
God knows plenty of people in the dorms here have wireless routers.
Now to address the question, you can certainly put a password on the network (using airport admin utility I believe). In addition you can make it so only specific computers may connect to your network, and so your network is hidden.

Of course if Apple is exploring HyperTransport as a system bus, you'd expect some AMD people to be around the Apple campus.
But of course that's too simple an explanation.
Viva la Revolution :)
The more I think about it, the more it seems the DS was actually the "revolution" Nintendo was promising. It's pretty much the gaming platform right now, dominates sales charts on each continent etc... It was Nintendo's first steps towards bringing in the non-gamer, the Wii is more like the exclamation point to the DS's first sentence. The Wii really is just a console DS in so many ways. To sell almost 7 million units in the 5 months it has been out is incredible, especially given the lack of games, online play, HD etc. Looks like a console DS to me! It's like the NES or PS1 all over again.
