funny billboards,hi all !!
my husband concurently file I-140 and I-485 (along with EAD and AP) on 22nd June 2007. We got our I-140 approved on 30th August. I have two questions
1. When can i expect my EAD ?
2. Is there any rule that i shud start working within some stipulated time after getting my EAD or i can take my own time ?
1. it should take another week or 10 days...
2. you could start when you want....
At first the funny billboardsI agree with you that you need to go with lawyers who are really specialized in immigration especially when the case is complicated.
I know a person whos company lawyer screwed up the case. (They are from a very reputed law firm). Then she went with Murthy, they did a great job and got it done for her. They charged her a lot but it was worth it.
So get the best out there. It may be expensive but if it fixes your case its worth it.
GCPOOL,
Thanks for the info you shared. I agree with you. Do you know if Rajiv's office can deal with PD porting issues successfully?

to funny billboardsHi
we applied ap in octoer and we got receipt on oct 24th but we found a typo error on my daughters receipt instead of 'ekthasruthi sakala' it was ektha sakala' will it be a problem at the port of entry . please suggest me.
The name on the AP should match with passport. Make sure your 131 form has a correct name, if yes then you can reapply for a AP without a filing fee otherwise you have to pay. BTW, check all your receipts whether it has a correct name
more...funny billboards and signsHi-
My spouse recently started working on F1 OPT. She also got her H1 approved (port of entry was requested and not change of status). H1 was through lottery to start from oct upon stamping. Suddenly our PD moved forward and we will file 485 next month.
We are going to India in dec. By that time we should get our AP. My question is does my wife need to go for H1 stamp or can she enter using her AP and keep H1 status. Both of us have different employers. Her 485 will be filed as my dependant.
Secondly - I will also get a new EAD. Can I work second part time job using that ead while maintaining my permanent job using H1?
comb Funny+illboard+adsIn most of the job boards, we see the following employment types:
1. Full Time (this I understand :))
2. Contract - Corp 2 Corp
3. Contract - Independent
4. Contract - W2
5. Contract to Hire - Corp 2 Corp/W2/Independent.
Can someone explain to me what these mean?
What are the differences with taxation perspective?
For someone on EAD, (for AC21), which employment type(s) are preferred?
Thanks!

Hi,
Please help me with my situation below:
1) Got laid off from company A (they haven't cancelled my H1).
2) Got my H1B transferred to company B (this H1B transfer has not yet been approved). I did not work for them.
3) I did premium processing for H1B transfer for company C and got it approved. I haven't started working for them.
4) Now I have decided to work for company D. They are ready to do my H1B transfer.
Will that be a problem or do I have to go with company C? I do not have paystubs from company B and C. If I have to reenter US, will that be a problem? Please help me out.
file it immediately and start working for C. If there is an RFE, it'd take few months by that time you just send ur current pay stubs. INS is generally flexible for a month or so..act fast

Funny Billboards Z-RINGYES! EAD is your license to work for any company, even for those not sponsoring you. It doesn't matter if your i140 is approved or not, you can work with EAD and that is legal.
Hi! thank you for your reply! :)

Guys,
Does anybody here got a rejection becuase of the incorrect filling fee?
If so can you share the message on the lette which was received along with the rejected application.
I have received a rejection letter for my spouse with the following message in it.
"The above application or petition, along with any check or other form of fee payment, is attached. The application or petition cannot be accepted because the proper fee of $1010.00 U.S is not attached. Since the case is not properly filed, a priority or processing date cannot be assigned.
Please attach a check or money order for this amount and resubmit this entire package to the address listed below. To speed processing, please leave this notice on top."
Can anyone confirm with me if they got the same message for incorrect filing fee? The message is very ambigious if the filling was incorrect or they did not find the filing fee attached with the application.
Please reply to this posting with the message they received for rejection of their application or if anybody has any information on this.
Thanks,

about illboard-top at theYou are more than welcome to do the stamping in any country... just that if your name comes under TAL or any other check, you would end up enjoying that country for longer than you had intended originally...
I have been to Canada twice for stamping - no issues, just realized that they have become more strict in evaluating candidates - one friend of mine enjoyed Toronto for about 1.5 months (originally intended for 2 days).
So talk to your lawyers and be safe and comfortable :)
As said, you can go any US consulate to get your Visa stamped, I got my twice in Canada, once in Dublin, once in London, most times I was travelling on business, I know if there is somethging wrong my company and the lawer will be there. It depends on your company, I guess...

These guys did not mention specifically "legal immigrants" but to me that sounds even easier since most of them possibly have decent wages and also maintain a legally sound lifestyle.

Funny Signs/BillboardsThanks. So if I-485 is approved, then all OK.
What happens when there is a problem with I-485: Denial or NOID ?
If denial, and in US, MTR can be filed and if MTR accepted, the period (from Denial) is considered as legal stay (even if not maintaining H1b status).
But if denial, and outside US, you can NOT enter on AP. Correct ? Here only option to enter US is H1b ? Can MTR be filed ?

ads, atheism, illboard, funnyIf you really don't want to use the DataGrid, you could just use a ListBox. Each ListBoxItem (you can edit the ItemsTemplate) could be a textbox with a series of comboboxes inside it. That will give your users the illusion of having a scrolling list of items that they can enter values into.

Funny BillboardsI was wondering if anyone has any info on the job
market for international students in NY. I will be graduating
in Dec and will be on the job market soon.
Some of my friends say that there are jobs to be had but
not many are keen on sponsoring H1, even non-tarp firms.
Can anyone confirm/refute this?

funny digital illboardDear all,
I have a Q regarding the follow-to-join rule. Say one has filed I-140 and I-485 recently (concurrently filing). To use the follow-to-join rule, can the spouse file I-485 at any time after the primary applicant's I-140 is approved but before I-485 is approved? In that case, will the spouse's I-485 be approved around the same time as the primary applicant?
A related Q, will a Visa number be immediately available after one's I-140 is approved?
Thanks a lot!

super funny stuff worldsHi,
is it absolutely safe to travel with pending i 485 app with valid h1b stamping with receipt notice and completed fp.?we are kind of confuded whether to plan for the travel...We have not yet received the actual advance parole. i read somwhere that if u leave the country wth pending i 485 but without ap ur appl is considered abandoned.is this true.?..we have the option to change the trip to apr too.In a nutshell is it completely safe to travel on 485 pending appl without ap with valid stamping.?
Has any1 wth the same situation has gone and come back without any issues?
Gurus ur input s greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Whats your PD? If you are on H1, have a stamping and already have the 485 receipt, the only possible issue with travel is if your 485 gets approved when you are abroad. People have still managed to enter on H1 as PoE officer apparently does not realize about your 485 approval.
If its a recent PD, then no issues, you can travel (Actually my lawyer told me I can travel even without getting the 485 receipt, but thats apparently a bit of a grey area)
All,
I saw the following data released on Murthy bulletin today about PERM and BPC cases. I thought I will share it with you all.
PERM:
The DOL states that 80,272 PERM cases were filed during the above timeframe. Of these, 36,687 have been certified, 1,950 have been withdrawn, and 23,205 have been denied. The denials have been for a variety of reasons, including small errors made on the forms. Thus, many of these cases were refiled and may have been approved, ultimately. The remaining cases are pending.
There have been 24,960 audits. A breakdown of the number of cases approved and denied after an audit was not provided.
BPC:
The backlog processing centers (BPCs) began with just over 363,000 labor certifications in the backlog. The DOL reports that 108,000 of these cases have been completed. There are at least 255,000 cases that have not been completed. Of those cases completed, approximately 50,000 have been certified. This does not mean that there have been high rates of BPC denials. We believe it reflects the fact that a case is deemed "complete" if the employer chooses not to go forward at the 45-day letter stage.
DOL believes that all special-handling cases have been identified and contacted. Full data entry for all cases still appears to be slated for a June 30, 2006 completion.
This data may help us in doing some more calculations for regrogression date movements.
