Talk about some analysist making a fool of himself. T-Mobile's 3G is NOT compatible with any iPhone. They use 1700Mhz for the uplink, 2100Mhz for the downlink which the iPhone 3G/3GS/4 can't do. It's called AWS band, or UMTS band IV. In europe 2100Mhz is used for both uplink and dowlink, it's UMTS band I.

At most what you'll get on T-Mobile with the iPhones is regular EDGE on 1900Mhz.

I doubt very much Macbook is getting updates at the same time Pro Models do. Thats not how Apple operates. First the pro models will be updated then that tech will show up months later in Macbook with some crippling like in the Gpu.

LOL! I'm sure glad I wasn't the only one thinking this. Previous notices came out with the update. Oh well. I was so hopeful that it was for a 3rd update.

You know, these downloadable updates seem to be more substantial than simple updates and their build iterations are also indicative of somer much more serious changes. I hope they keep with the downloadable updates until we need to test the installer more.

CR is not qualified to review tech products. They need to stick to reviewing toasters. Any CR review of iPhone, iPad, etc is guaranteed to have 10% of the depth of a real review. Why even bother? Why give CR the page hits from being on the front page? Just let them fade into obscurity.

Nothing really major. If you think Norm Coleman was a good guy, and that EFCA was a bad, bad idea, HD is the place for you to be going. Mostly a matter of personal taste, really.

But he is absolutely right. It is perfectly useable without a base computer to sync with, too. Think of it this way, if one doesn't have a computer already, they won't have anything to sync. Then it's just on to the iTunes Store.

This is the right device for, say, my sister, who just wants to be able to browse the web, play some games, and watch some videos. And my guess is that's the target audience as well as the "normal" user.

I saw some of the difficulties in cropping this, and wondered if an oval crop would help. Once I started playing with it, then I started really seeing the ovals/circles: chips, cups, table, his hat, her glasses, tomatoes. And I saw the rectangles: floor tiles, trays, paper dishes. More contrasts! After experimenting with the oval crop, it felt right to put this within a rectangle frame --another contrast, and it makes me feel more like I'm sneaking a peek at this couple, as Keleko did when shooting this pict.

I'll say this much: the challenges and the weekly contests are making me think about ... and see ... things differently!!! Thank you, all! (I think! Photos I loved a few weeks ago now look like garbage!)
