How old are your folks? Sometimes, this may sound a bit cheesy, but getting wheelchair always helps. What that does is, it guarantees your folks will be at the correct gates, at right times.
I got her a wheelchair, and she had a smooth transition.....

On exploring this topic further, I found that, at times, DOL conducts an audit to check if the employer paid the proffered wage to the beneficiary after GC approval. In case of a violation, DOL bans the employer from processing further H1�s or GC�s.

On rare occasions, USCIS revokes previously approved GC�s in case of fraud.

Also during naturalization, USCIS checks the duration of employment with the GC position after I-485 approval. Naturalization might be denied if the duration of employment is very short.

Is it true even for principal applicant? If 140 is denied, isn't your EAD invalidated? In other words, if 140 (immigration petition) is denied, there is nothing to adjust your status on and so even 485 becomes invalid.

Her EAD is tied to her 485 not to your 140. As long as the 485 status is pending, her EAD is valid. Even if the 485 is rejected, if it is something that can be fixed thru an MTR, then filing an MTR and changing the status back to pending is still fine. It is not necessary to stop using the EAD for that brief period.

Man I called and talked to teh 2nd level person and she said my app is not in the system...So what could be the reason for it...It was received on 18th july in NSC..Any pointers guys..?? :(

you can apply for UI - Unemployment insurance, NOT Unemployment benefit. The first is an insurance, the second a benefit that will impact your GC application.

Dear Friends, My sincerest hopes and prayers that EB2-I dates advance my PD is Jul 2007 and we narrowly missed the Jul 07 windfall. I hope our wait for EAD & AP ends this year!

My mind says its difficult, heart says pray for it, maybe our wishes and prayers are granted in the Oct VB. Good luck to all :)

Yes, I think this is absolutely true - infact, I have given myself till 2007 end for that specific reason. If nothing changes by 2007 June/July, I will start looking at Australia, Canada, UK and India (most likely I will go back to India).

I might come back when this country changes, and believe me, it will change, esp. when people from baby-boomer generation retires.

But for a small number -- but still significant, and certainly to the individual, significant -- if their name crops up and it's an older case, and it's in a file somewhere, someone has got to hunt it down. And to be perfectly honest, that is not a top priority job for an agent, is to go through an old paper record sitting in a warehouse.


This is called INTENTIONAL DERILICTION of duty!!! USCIS/FBI spent time on other things while harassing immigrants with inordinate delay in providing benefits!!!
