Main article: Funeral of DianaWhat you have mentioned is the only good thing Mr. Backstabbing Naidu did. rest of AP is like Hell except Hyd... Govt employees pensions on the edge to be removed... Power charges increased 600% .. He is a next to dictator... one has to bow to his party men the villages or cities ... even a simple activity needs his partymen's approval... This is what makes difference... any politician is a politician... just a diff how one interacts with ppl makes one like YSR. undoubtedly there are poor ppl who got benefited from him. land sale was intially started by Mr. Naidu...
Btw he just had 2 acres of land now he is king of 2000+ Crores... think about it also... AP media has yellow fever...
Btw I am from AP and i take side and i went through it...
on part of Corruption... there is corruption with any party and in all stages of govt... But he is far far far better than dictator naidu ... no one bothered for him when he was almost attacked during once by naxals... think about it...
btw _TrueFacts_ you also look into these facts before commenting... may be you just have TDP/eenadu _YellowFacts_...

Funeral princess funeralmayHi Keeme,
My post was not about double standards BUT about opposing terrorism, it doesn't matter if its LTTE, KHALISTAN, TALIBAN or any other organisation which terrorises the society. These terrorists outfits should be handled beyond any religious, linguistic or any other consideration.
Regarding support for common man/community, we should oppose any human rights violation against any individual/community, there shouldn't be any double standards BUT at the same time action against terrorist outfits should not be compromised.
Correct ! Stand against injustice ! Let's discuss it out. Do you see LT ( karshimir) same as you see LTTE ? Do you feel anything for Kashimiri Pandits ?

Could not have said it better. Atleast we who have been fortunate to see "outside world" have to consider these actors/actresses as ordinary human beings. I would rather say that it is good that this guy was held up for 2 hours. He mentioned that he was taken into a room where several other asians were also present waiting for help. I really hope the guy realizes that not everybody in the world knows him. If on the other hand he had invested his money in creating a sharukh's village for the orphans or done some other huge charity work (not just for income tax evasion) I would have felt sad but even then not terrible as many feel now.
LESSON THAT WE LEARNT:: EVERYONE GETS TO BE EQUAL SOMEWHERE ALONG THE LINE....
Dont be too much awed by these artists. They rake in millions but give back VERY VERY LITTLE. So why would be even thinking about them more than the average business person????..
PS:- Dont misunderstand this as a statement arising out of jealosy or insecurity but it is JUST THE REALITY WHICH HOPEFULLY WE WILL ALL REALIZE ONE DAY.
I agree that it can happen to anybody. It happened to VDL Rao too!!!
He was questioned for his accurate predictions at LAX and NY Airport every time he landed.
But great thing is VDL Rao did not make any publicity out of that. He remained quiet as he is on this forum.
Jai Ho VDL Rao!

princess of wales - PrincessDillip good luck with your new challenge man. I understand you are currently in a difficult situation hope you will come out of it. Just one note though. Having graduated from a top school doesnt give anybody a right to top pay check and job security. I myself an IIT grad with a PhD from US- currently with Intel. I was expecting everybody to lap me up right out of undergrad. All I got was a chance. I learnt my ways- u have to demonstrate your skills today and dont expect a 10 year old paper diploma to make your living. Anyway I am also in a 485 EB2 Q. I am not fretting though- if it comes its a bonus for me, but doesnt change anything for me. I will still live in same home, get same pay, drive same car and get my patents published with same skills. :D

Home appreciation in Canada is strong and sustainable. The recent anomoly of soaring prices in the US, all experts agree, was driven by loose lending policies, and the sorts of bad loans that are simply not permitted in Canada. As a result, they are now not experiencing the same depreciation that is being felt in many US cities.
Housing prices in Canada do of course vary tremendously. And go through cycles. Vancouver is very expensive. Toronto is close on its heels. But to suggest homes don't increase value in Canada is perhaps the dumbest of the many dumb things you've said here.
I mean here we are in the middle of what all economists argue is a gloomy US housing market and you try and come up with nonsensical criticisms of the Canadian housing market.
Where do you get these utterly baseless comments? Use facts when you make an argument. They are more helpful to readers than rants without substance.
Disseminate real information. Information that you can bring to light that may actually enlighten me and many others.
Ranting? Well that's rather less helpful.
That was a symbolic example. I meant to say that in Canada Housing is just meant housing not the investment. Here in capitalist market housing is never been a housing alone , prime motto to have housing is investment. If we might be debating this 3 years back on this forum ( In booming Real Estate market, yep, US GC Process was sucker then too :) ) you would not have anything against US real estate market to argue about. And that's the point. Housing market here too has cycles and if you wait out patiently you would have appreciation in a scale that normal Canadian may have to dream about.
And that is the point. If lending industry seems to be loosely controlled to you in the USA then yes there are ways to deal with it. You have to learn them. In Canada, in your terms, so called "Good loans" has kept Canadian economy "Welfare economy" only. To progress dynamically any country should have economy to be able to have kicks in, and USA market has that capacity. Today you are ranting about bad housing in USA... agreed, but seeing your signature, it seems that you never want to leave USA and with your claim "to love USA", I believe you will still be around here for years debating with me.. (wait, let me go grab a cup of cofee.:) .. I also need "Dynamic Kick" to debate with you) , I will be able to show you how much appreciation average american can have on average home. Did not you hear NPR yesterday? Housing market is coming back. Now housing is always the prime factor in any economy and so I choose that example. More or less it is true for every industry except oil in Canada. And mind that this forum is not to prove where the housing is better and so I do not want to go into minute statistical detail but most people in Canada and USA except yourself would agree with me.

But I thought the rule stated that the spillover can only be applied to over-subscribed countries in the FOURTH quarter of the fiscal year - meaning no sooner than June/July 2010 - or am I missing something here?
How can the VB get past March 2005 in December 2009? If it does, I'll be very happy! However, I would like to know if the estimate is realistic...and not over-optimistic.
2010 In a tribute to Princess Diana
Princess Diana and PrinceI have drafted a letter:
Dear Reporter/ Senator/ Congressman,
I am an immigrant who entered this country legally. Ive been waiting for my US permanent resident visa -also known as green card for the past several years along with 500,000 other educated, highly skilled employment based (EB) immigrants. Many of us have been waiting for our turn to get the green card for 5-10 years while consistently abiding by all the laws of this country. Such long delays are due to tortuous and confusing paper work, back logs due to various quotas and processing delays at US Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS).
Several categories of EB immigrant visa numbers have been unavailable (retrogressed) since the fall of 2005. Because our immigrant petitions are tied to the sponsoring employer, for many of us these delays have led to indentured servitude. Our professional prospects, job mobility and potential opportunities for entrepreneurship have been shattered.
For the past several decades, the US Department of State (DOS) has been publishing advisories known as visa bulletins once a month to announce the availability of immigrant .visa numbers. On June 13, 2007, after a gap of nearly two years, DOS announced that all EB visa numbers would be current for the month of July. This meant, irrespective of our priority date, all of us were made eligible to apply for some interim immigration benefits. This priority date refers to the date when our labor certification (documentation to verifying no US citizen worker was available for a given job) had been filed.
This announcement by DOS on 6/13/2007 would not have led to immediate green card for most of us; but at least it would have ensured us interim benefits such as job mobility, some freedom from the employer, work authorization for our spouses and a travel authorization known as advance parole. This authorization would allow us to travel outside US without fear of not being able to re-enter the country.
We spent thousands of dollars in legal fees, immigration medical exams, vaccinations, blood tests, x-rays and getting various supporting documents ready to file our immigrant petitions to USCIS. It has been an agonizing two weeks for us. Some of us to had to fly in our spouses from our native countries. To our shock and dismay, on the morning of July 2nd 2007, USCIS announced that EB visa numbers were not available and all our petitions would be rejected. Within a span of 2 weeks, to be precise -in 12 working days- USCIS claims to have approved 60,000 EB immigrant visa petitions. This unprecedented rapid action of USCIS has led to exhaustion of all the available visa numbers for this fiscal year. Meanwhile it is prognosticated that in the next fiscal year which begins on October 1, 2007 our plight and delays would actually worsen.
Interestingly USCIS has never processed so many applications this fast, and it is unclear why they did not convey this potential exhaustion of visa numbers to DOS before June 13, 2007.
For the legal skilled immigrants this has been a rather traumatizing and disheartening experience.
We sincerely seek immediate congressional/ legislative remedial measures which would
(1)Reduce the enormous backlogs of green card petitions of legal skilled immigrants
(2)Ensure and enable USCIS not to reject our immigrant visa petitions and give us interim benefits of a pending immigrant visa petition.
We make this sincere request on this Independence Day with the hope that people who played by the rules will be rewarded.
Yours Sincerely,
more...Princess Diana#39;s Death andThis memo is a Blow Job to the anti-immigrant lobby and is politically motivated. Although this won't effect people using EAD but there are number of people who are waiting to file I-485 and would need to extend H1-Bs.
Lets fight for the rights. A picture perfect example of "protectionism". This memo won't be a doom for Skilled workers but for USA.
Skill have no boundaries and would find a way to success, if not in USA, somewhere else.
hair princess of wales - Princess
tribute to Princess DianaThere is a lot of debate going on here, about how Canada and Australia have a better immigration system because they are points-based self-petition systems compared to employer-petition system here in US.
I believe the employer-petition system is still the best system to implement for immigration. Its complicated, long and provides breeding ground for exploitation. But that is the ONLY way to ensure that the workforce is not oversupplied with labor and the immigrants who can gather points actually have the ability to get jobs.(look at Canada where Ph.Ds who aced the points sytem are inept in real world and drive taxicabs and blame the Canadian Government).
If I score 100 points out of required 50 or 60 points for Canada, its all meaningless if I am inept and cannot get a job. However, I would contribute to my own well-being and to the workforce and economy if I can find a job and an employer willing to petition, even if I score 25 points out of required 50 or 60.
US has the best immigration system and I believe the employer petition is the best method for adjudication. However, it has its problems in terms of delays due to bureaucratic inefficiencies and inadequate annual quotas. If Australia, France, Germany are going to adopt the Canadian model of points-based system, its not goint to help them or the ones who go there.

What are your options if the Canadian PR expires (go to CA get PR and come back to US) and you are still in the US ? OR say you are in your 4th/5th year of CA PR and then you then desire to go to CA, can you re-apply for the Canadian PR ? If you can, what is the procedure .... ?
Anyone who know abt this, please respond.

As a Tamil, I too carry the Indian passport with shame and can't wait to see the day when I become a US citizen.
Let me be the first to say, all the best to you to get the US citizenship fast... and more importantly good riddance... And all the best for Americans to get a model citizen like you. By the way, I hope you do know about the oath you need to take to become an American. Hope you do that sincerely and are not narrow-minded then.

I do not support law suit for two reasons,
1) I do not believe that lawsuit will bring a positive decision that benefits the whole community.
2) I do not know any of those who tells that they support lawsuits, their level of commitment for becoming plaintiffs, commit the $s, time and energy
I dont care if USCIS scrutinizes those plaintiffs applications closely. They can and they should. Those who are in such a good strong GC cases alone can come forward and participate because if it is legal battle, every thing is fair on both parties to use all legal means to weaken other party.
You can stretch a government agency only to certain extent. No one can prove that USCIS intentionally took decisions so that they waste the visas. Just like my client cannot sue me for the bugs I introduced in my code.(in my good developer days). At the most court might ask agency to prove that they improved the process which USCIS can prove easily.
I urge all members to understand the reasons why we should not support lawsuit. It is not a true consumer rights issue. It is a government agency with limited resources, ideas and priorities.
Finally, what is it to the community on the whole - recapture of unused numbers. Then what whoever gets GC will be happy with their life and what about other deserving GC aspirants. As an organization, our objectives are very clear - we are pro-legal immigration, grass-roots organization for GC Reforms. We believe in lobbying. We believe in making the agencies improve the process, work with congress to increase numbers/ remove country caps, believe in the benefits of legal highly skilled immigration. If the idea is to benefit those 20% before 2004/2005 and not the whole community, I think it is selfish.
I believe in IV strength, IV core principles, IV approach and IV leadership maturity. Every scenario is carefully thought, researched and evaluated even before turning down that idea.
Success has many fathers but failure is an orphan. IV is the kind of organization which keeps the failure attempts also transparent and keeps the members in loop. It also introspects what went wrong and changes the course in next step. Admin relief is the first and foremost priority for us. next is increased lobbying with lawmakers.

The legendary Princess and theI am India EB2. Labor cleared 2 years back, I140 cleared more than 1.5 years back and I485 pending for more than a year. Have EAD and AP.
Currently continuing under same employer with I797 valid till Dec/2008. I will complete 6 years of H1 in Dec.
I would like to change to a new employer with a new H1.
I believe I am eligible for a 3 year extension based on above conditions.
My question: After I get a new H1 and invoke AC21, but supposing old employer withdraws I140, what happens to the new H1?
Since it is to be issued for 3 years based on labor/I140 cleared etc., what will be the situation if the underlying I140 is withdrawn by original sponsoring employer?

Princess Diana -- A Look Back On What Would Be Her 50th Birthday
Thanks Thampi, people let us post some more avoidance techniques to be used subtle or not, this is a scourge we need to get rid of.
Here is a report from immigration-law.com
02/05/2006: DOL Resummitted and Obtained OMB Clearance of Proposed Labor Substitution Elimination Regulation on 02/02/2006
* This DOL and DHS proposed rule was cleared by the OMB last fall, but for unknown reasons, it has been pushed off. However, on February 2, 2006, Thursday, ETA/DOL resummitted the proposed rule and on the same day, the OMB cleared again this regulation. It is unknown at this time exactly when the DOL will publish this critical regulation but considering the fact that it reinstated the rule-making process as late as three days back, something must be cooking this time. Please stay tuned.
Great news, especially given that most of the body shoppers were using it for fraud. Also this would make it easier for USCIS to predict the actual usage of Visa numbers and thus move the PDs accurately.
