graduated with a MS in Computer science in may2007.
i applied to another university and got my sevis transferred to do my MBA there.
i have done 11 months 20 days of full time CPT at the previous university(where i did my MS).
am i eligible for another full time CPT at my new university where i have started my MBA (from jan 21st 2008)?

the international students service at my previous university is saying "i am eligible for 12months of full time CPT for every educational level, and i cannot get another 12 months if i do MBA because it is a masters degree too".
please suggest.

Looks like the long awaited spending bill is finally in the making and should make its way to the congress soon. For those of you who haven't contributed to IV, this should come as a warning that if you don't contribute now, it may just be too late for us to seek any relief in these bills.

Once this opportunity has passed, we'll be stuck with CIR which everyone knows is a tough pill to swallow for either party in the congress and could drag on for months and may never see the light of the day. So here are the choices:

1. Contribute now and try to get some relief from these spending bills.

2. Contribute later and try to get something done with CIR/SKIL.

3. Never contribute and just watch core members pull their hair trying to figure out why people are not contributing and just hope that GC will fall from sky.

Whatever you chose to do, please think twice before you make up your mind.

My company wants to transfer me to Europe for 2 yrs. Its a very good opportunity for my career. My I140 approved and 485 is pending. PD March 2006 EB2 India. It wont become current for foreseeable future. I am appplying for 3 yrs of H1B extension.

Can I be outside the US for 2 yrs w/o jeopardizing the GC process. Can I then come back after 2 yrs on stamped H1?

My wife used EAD to work. Can I apply her H4 extension with me and she foregoes her EAD? Will she get H4 status and extension along with my H1?

Can she then come back with me after 2 yrs on H4 and then revert back to EAD to work?

I need to make a decision soon. Any replies will be greatly appreciated!

Do we get a notice to get biometrics done when you apply for EAD renewal?

My wife and I have a EAD renewal RD of June 23, 2008 at NSC. We have not gotten any LUD after that. Anybody knows how long it takes to get the EAD?

Hi Guys,

I had recently changed jobs and my new employers attorney were going to file AC21. But my company was acquired by another large corporation and the attorneys have changed. The merger company's attorneys are Pappas and Lenzo. Does anyone have experience with this firm , in terms of h1 filing, I-140/I-485 related cases and other GC stuff like AC21, etc.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

She has the F1 stamped on the passport which is valid until Dec 2009 I think. She is finishing much before that. Does it mean she will not be able to reenter on either F1 visa or the EAD?

We would really like to join you but we're still in Canada ? Our case is completed, we're WW EB3 - but we go through CP, so we have to wait until we're current !!!

Hi,

I have applied 485 through a lawyer. The lawfirm sold their company to some one else. I was asked to file G28 and I didn't file for G28 yet.

I got a mail saying I was sent RFE n Feb 4th. I haven't received the letter yet. Would the RFE go to lawyer or me?

What should I do now?

Please e-mail CSC and ask them to look into it.

ask to see if ur company can support the original GC application also. If they will provide you documentation that you mention in the 3rd point you should be fine.

Your company attorney's should be able to guide you more.
I think this is no different that using an EAD to switch jobs. You can continue working on H1B also - provided your company sees no need to file amended H1B .

I don't think anybody ask for an EVL at POE! And even if they ask, there are no 'format' requirements. If you want, you can just take a standard EVL mentioning your salary, duration of work and title - that should be it.

as per the old messages about the docs to be taken while travelling in AP, EVL was also mentioned in this forum

Can you tell me how you took an Infopass appointment since your PD is not current right now (will be current in Sept)? I was told that I can take infopass appointment only after my PD is current.

I'm pricing the d300, and I am trying to find one within my budget. Is a Nikon USA refurbished d300 just as good as a brand new one? I'm a little perplexed. My d70s is QUICKLY on its way out, and I need a new camera SOON.
