inspirational quotes for life.I'm deleting the original text of this post since it is causing confusion: Only Hagel Martinez Provisions Being Considered, Not Oct 05 Hagel Bill.
I've started getting phone calls, and emails on this.

inspirational quotes on lifeI would suggest you ask your employer B to file thru premium processing. Just to be on the safe side
cancellation takes atleast a month if not more. (4-5 months is not a confirmed number so its better to assume the worse case of 1 month)
cheers

Thank you for the advice nat23. I will talk to my lawyer about this.

quotes about life lessons inHi,
I have my I140 approved couple of years ago and now our company is being acquired by another firm. As a result I may lose my job. I am on 5th year of H1 and have I140 copy.
I got an offer with a project from a top consulting firm who is willing to transfer my H1 and also carry forward GC.
However I am concerned, as that consulting firm has the history of cancelling the H1 once they could not find any new projects after the current project. But in current market scenario, I could find any other opportunity and it may be necessary to join that firm.
So lets say after one/two years, if I lose my job with that firm and want to carry forward my H1/GC with other company, will it be possible?
What should I ask the firm now (terms and conditions, before start working with them) to make my self in safe position later on?
Thanks for your advice.

PD on your profile does not sound realistic, whats your actual PD? I assume you have not filed your 485 according to your profile. This may help throw some opinions.
more...fcc m good life lesson Up withWould going to Canada and re-entering without going for visa stamping count as lawful entry??
Yes (assuming you stayed in Canada for less than 2 weeks or whatever is that number).
Or one has to go and get the visa stamped to qualify as lawful entry??
Also when you go to Canada and come back Without VISA stamping, he gets the same I-94 or different I-94??
Thanks.
If you did not submit your old I-94 at the time of entering canada, then you keep the same I-94. In fact, if you do not have a valid visa stamp (i.e., you are entering using visa revalidation), then it is best not to submit your current I-94.

dishing life lessons weMsians will be issued a visa the the point of entry. Commonwealth country thingy.
Spoken to my attorney and she says its no problem getting back into the US with a AP.
I use AP last year with no issues while going back to Msia for a visit. I guess i am paranoid about dealing with US immigration.

inspirational quotes on lifeIt looks like it has been transferred to NSC. Probably because your AOS is filed there, but more likely because you're from a region administered by NSC. Could you please confirm if that's the case. 450+ days is just ridiculous, but hope this change is one in the right direction.
Hi Guys,
I filed my EB3 I-140 to TSC in June 2006 and it is still pending (yes..really more than 450 days and counting...) Then in July 2007, I filed my AOS with NSC. Today, I got an email from CRIS stating that
Application Type: I140 , IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR ALIEN WORKER
Current Status: This case has been sent to another office for processing.
On September 4, 2007, we transferred this I140 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR ALIEN WORKER to our LINCOLN, NE location for processing and sent you a notice explaining this action. Please follow any instructions on this notice. You will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from you.
It is transferred to NSC because my AOS is filed with NSC? Have any one had this status change in the past? After this, how long did it tak to get your I-140 approved?
I am just curious because can I feel happy that atleast some progress? As you know, I am waiting for my I-140 for more than a year...

quotes about life lessons. If you overstayed more than 180 days will trigger a ban. Apply for a visa, or try to find out from CBP or your local consulate or embassy, to find out the ban period. May be 3 or 10 years. You can appeal for ban waiver. Tell the truth at consulate, if not the ban will be greater.

2010 motivational quotes withTwo I140 in process with a difference of one years in the priority date (one original and one recently filled substitution with improved PD). Which I-140 should be used for I485. IF PD goes back to retrogration, the substitution would help with a risk of getting reject as well. The original I140 has less risk but if PD goes in retrogration, it might get years to get I-485 approve. Suggestions?
I asked this question to my lawyer and he said he would including info about both I-140's and they USCIS will chose one. I am not sure what it would depend on but my lawyer is knowledge and he said I would not to pick on. I believe I would get the earlier PD if the pending I-140 is approved

Does any one know on an average how much time it will take to complete background check?
My PD is current this month and there is background check pending on my case..
As a California immigration lawyer who files many asylum cases, I am used to thinking of a the United States as a place of refuge and to documenting the horrible country conditions of other countries. I have successfully represented applicants for asylum who feared staying in their countries because while serving in their countries' armies, they were harmed on account of their sexual orientation.
It is therefore rather surprising to come across a story of a U.S.soldier who is fleeing to Canada (http://www.cbc.ca/canada/story/2009/11/20/refugee-board-soldier-lesbian.html) because she fears harm in the U.S. Army on account of her sexual orientation. According to CBC news, U.S. Army Pte. Bethany Smith fled Canada in September 2007 from a U.S. Army base in Fort Campbell, Ky. She applied for refugee status in October 2007, saying that she was harassed and threatened by fellow soldiers over her sexual orientation and feared that her life would be in danger if she were deported and returned to the army. The Canadian authorities initially rejected in her claim in February 2009. However, on appeal, the Federal Court of Canada held that the refugee board must reconsider the case again because the Board made several mistakes in initially reviewing her claim.
The Federal Court's decision (http://www.californiaimmigrationlawyerblog.com/Smith%20and%20the%20Minister%20of%20Citizenship%20 and%20Immigration.pdf)noted that the refugee board failed to fully consider the evidence pertaining to the situation of gays and lesbians in the U.S. Army to determine whether Pte. Smith could have availed herself of protection in the United States. The Federal Court also noted that the Board failed to determine whether Pte. Smith would be persecuted on account of her social group - as a lesbian in the U.S. Army if forced to return. There were other errors mentioned in the decision.
It is sad that the U.S. policy of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell," is the basis of an asylum claim in Canada. Pt. Smith was only 19 years old when she fled to Canada. From everything I read, it appears that she wanted to serve in the U.S. Army and no real desire to leave the United States. At a time when we apparently need people to serve in the Armed Forces and in fact give non-citizens a way to immigrate to the United States faster for their service, it seems ridiculous that an American citizen should have to leave. It it is time to eliminate the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy.
