Hi Guys,

In the instructions to file EAD they say to print name and alien receipt number on the back of the photos.

What number should we write? I-485 receipt number or receipt number for last EAD?

Can someone please respond?

Well they are always saying they "want to start" discussions things can turn quick if they want to ... But the point is whether we "in" or are we "out" of discussions if we have atleast one point representation in those talks I think there would some help instead of asking all of us to go back and start process again, this is what 2007 CIR did and it would be if we do nothing... For me I have sent emails / calls when HR XYZA legislation of Lofgren was in discussions.. but those are small numbers and I wonder whether IV Core is doing something through their Lobbying channels... Surely its coming if not today during the tenure of President Obama.

I've received my EAD+AP and I 485 (filed, priority date Nov 05) through my husband's GC process. I currently work on H1B (3 yrs remaining on my H1B). One week ago got laid off and working with same company till end of month. While looking for new job I'm unable to decided whether to maintain my H1-B status or switch to EAD.
1) If I switch to EAD and husband has problems in I485 approval, can I switch back to H1B for remaining time or do I fall under H1 cap and start from beginning.
2) Should I transfer to H4 before leaving job and then look for new job with EAD to save remainder of time on H1B which I can use if something goes wrong with EAD.
3) Would it be safer to get H1B transfer to new employer and forget EAD till husbands I-485 gets approved.
4) If I get a job on EAD, do I've to file something with INS to let them know that Im not working on H1B. If getting back on H1B from EAD, do I file regular H1B application through employer or process is different if you get back from EAD to H1.
Please help!!!!!! lay off from work is enough stress. I thought EAD would make life easier but more options means more confusion:confused:

H1B Renewal Process is Very Simple.
But the Beneficiary cannot do it on his own.
It has to be done by your Employer since on I-129
he has to Provide lot of confidential Information about the company
like Turn Over and Income of the company.
Most Employers have a contract with the Attornies and Prefer to
go through them instead of doing the Paper work themselves.
BUT it is very easy.

I got appointment letter for Biometrics from USCIS. I already gave in 2007.
Why are they asking again? and I only got this, my husband and son didn't get it.

Right now I am on EAD, since last december(2009) I am not working, will there be any issues as I am the primary applicant.

Hello,

The dept. of labor uses two types of codes, one of which is the SOC code. Yours may be a SOC code (Standard Occupational Classification) or the other one (name I can't remember). If you look at Murthy.com and search for articles on AC21, you'll find information on the two types of codes the DOL uses. The go to the DOL website and do a search for the two types of occupational codes and see which classification system your code matches. Once you access the classification, just look for your number and it should give you a brief description. I did this for my code.

Means you two have and 86% chance of makin' bacon.

they didnot hold my passport at the newdelhi consulate ...but has issued me a 221g asking me to submit a notirized list of all the employees in my company B with start date,end date,specific job title ,immigration status,yearly salary

and

w2 of all the employees in company B for the past one years

which i submitted after which i had got the refusal under 221g

I just noticed on USCIS website that all 4 of our family's I-485 (myself, wife, 2 children) have new LUD of 4/1/2009.

The message still says "case received and pending" on all cases.

I wonder what it means?

I am planning to use AC21 and notify USCIS about it. I have the labor job title, code and salary. The salary applied was in hourly rate of $46. So at the new permanent job, I have it as annual salary.

So how much would $46 be in annual salary or should I just have an hourly rate on my experience letter from my new employer.

Arent you allowed to apply for OPT only after you express ur desire to "graduate"?
if that is the case that means you have completed ur studies.
The other option would be enroll for a second MS...and try to go find a job on CPT?

i would not travel out on a OPT...
if you really want to travel...travel when ur F1 is valid.

My F1 visa (I got 2 yr student visa for Fall 2007) expires in May 2009. I applied for OPT and starting date is June 1st 2009. Since my F1 visa stamping is expiring, what is my possibility of visiting India after May ’09? Is there any possibility of extending my F1 Visa for another couple of yrs without leaving the country and continue on my OPT? Or any other suggestions? Please help me..

Do we need to state the reason for canada visit as tourism or state the true objective (ie get a H1B Visa stamping)? My US F-1 visa has expired, so it would be obvious that I cannot return without a new US Visa?
