Michelle Obama in Brazil

Blame it on Rio.

Darlings, it is a gloriously sunny (but chilly) Sunday morning and that can only mean one thing: brunch, and lots of it. But before we head out the door for something heavy and nap-inducing, let's take a quick look at Shelley's looks as the Obamas kick off a three-country, five-day tour of Latin America

We're not too sure about the blue shoes with that shade of red, but it's a decent enough dress. She's not meeting a head of state here, so the casual dressiness makes sense, especially since it's warm in Brazil right now.

This is a gorgeous dress. Love the beading. Here's an instance of neutrals doing what they're supposed to do. Rendering all that intricate beadwork in neutral tones prevents it from looking heavy and overdone.

Oooooh, we do not love this one at all. That fabric is kind of ugly to our eyes.

This appears to be what she's wearing under the jacket above. Still hate the fabric, but it works a little better here without the jacket.

We love the colors here; we love the print of the skirt; we hate this look on her. It's badly thought out; it divides her body up into chunks and draws your eye directly to her hips and stomach. If you kept everything the same but cut that print as a pencil skirt with a slightly lower waist with a small belt, this would be a killer look on her.
