1) Fast-track GC process for Masters degree holders from US universities. This will be the least controversial, boost admissions (and money) flowing into universities, and clear up backlog in regular GC queue. Its a win-win and most senators, congressmen have voiced support for it already. We can get very good support from University lobbyists also (if they exist!!).

If this process removes those with US Masters from the existing queue and puts them in a queue with no visa number limit, this is an excellent proposal. This might even eliminate the entire backlog.

Great initiative and kudos to NolaIndian for making it happen!

You made very good points. May I suggest we ask members to call on the phone too if they're busy? This actually worked in delaying the first Bailout in 2009, when they received numerous calls.
Customer service reps do this for hours everyday in some places.

Can anyone tell if it is possible to file for PERM by the new employer without transferring the H1B to them ?
My new employer is offering me this and I wanted to more about this ,if it would affect my H1 status .Still 4 yrs of H! is remaining .

(5) Procedure for Ordering a Visa Number from the DOS.
Visa numbers are requested by USCIS offices directly from the Visa Control Office of the DOS. The request is only to be made after:

� The applicant has been interviewed and found to be eligible for AOS(or, for cases adjudicated at a service center, simply found to be eligible for AOS); and

� The requestor has verified that the current VB indicates that a visa number is available for the country and classification involved, and that the current bulletin has not been superseded by an advisory from the Visa Control Office.

The DOS has guaranteed to USCIS that so long as the current visa bulletin and any superseding advisories indicate that a number is available, a number will be assigned.

Do not get too excited. If we are still in current in the Sep 2010 bulletin, then some reason for hope.

As of now, I only expect < 5% people to get approved this month.

If we are still current for Sep 2010 bulletin, then expect around 35 % to get through.

If we still stay current until the end of the year, expect ~ 80 % to get through.

How did I get the numbers ? My gut feeling.

If this amendment had really passed, and if it had not been modified in the conference between house and senate and if hard cap had become a law, then this amendment would have done more harm than good.

This is senate approval only. Doesn't it have to go through Congress also. Where are the votes in congress?

I also understand that there was no real intention on Kennedy to bring up our case. It was pure politics.

I booked my ticket a month ago but haven't yet figured out accommodation and travel within DC. I'm flying into DC on Sunday, 3rd morning.

Is someone looking to share a hotel room? Alternately, is any DC area member still looking to offer a spare sleeping bag? :)

I don't know how the DC area works but would preferably like to stay closer to the event hotel. If not, I'm open to renting a car and sharing cost to get in/out of DC (heard the traffic is a nightmare though).

I use a couple of brokers TDM, SOGOTRADE and Scottrade. All have their own benefits , But to buy and sell I use TDM/SOGO . Lot of good info/charts/filters etc on Scott and TDM

2. Is there going to be one trading style like you mentioned about Pattern Day Trading.

There are n number of trading styles , we can discuss afew and you can choose what suits you best

3. Is there a plan to conduct some series of tutorials or sort and practice at our own risk without supervision

I strongly recommend reading and rereading as much as you can about basic fundamentals of trading in general ........Ask tons of questions and evaluate answers.

this whole thread is a nonsense, it belevies that people are not aware of the tricks placed by desi consulting companies. how come people do not take jobs
in foutune 500 companies if they are so good at their skills, why do people go to
desi consulting companies for training, after MS degree every body is asking for
the list of consulting companies( why do they do that ).

there are people who ask is it valid to be without payslips on H1B ( how much
more ignorent can u be ) , bottom line they could not find the project and they want to blame the desi company for not paying them ( trash ).

I have a full time offer from a well know company here in the bay area. I have an EAD.

The new company wants a copy of the following

1) Labor certification
2) I-140

The thing is I don't want the new employer to file AC-21 as it may back fire on my pending I-485 as we have seen in the cases in the past. with I-485 being denied etc.

Any one in same boat who was asked for labor as well as I-140 copy? How do I convince new employer that, AC-21 is not necessary to be filed?
