I never believed the polls either. Go ahead and research how many pro CIR candidates have experienced decrease in popularity so far, how many cities have initiated ordinances against illegal immigration, how many $ was invested in lobbying senators without much success, how many anti CIR/amnesty calls outnumbered the pro CIR calls. If you do that, you may be shocked.

I never beleive in polls. The questions are always framed in such a way so that max people go and answer the way the poll wants....example below

Q1 ... Do you as an American support CIR for resolving immigration issues this country faces ?

Q2 ... Do you as an American support CIR so that illegal immigrants be a Citizen of this country ?

Looks at the above two questions, I think for Q1 lot of people would say "Yes" and "No" for the Q2, so I never beleive on the polls , the questions are always framed to get the answer the poll wants.

DO NOT post such baseless allegations.

IV core is very much aware of the problems as we ourselves face them, and working within our limited means and time. If you are interested, join us and give your helping hand.

Curious Techie..Core is you and me and dont post such things..but for the core EB-2 would not have been in a postion that it is today..they worked to get this done...you can request them in thier next meeting to bring this issue with USCIS\

I agree with UN's observations.
Many of us in this group doesn't have the wisdom to understand this including me.

However IV core should enlighten members so that they will stop going ahead with agendas that could be detrimental to our common goal. They should let at least the leaders of such efforts know why some of their ideas may be bad.

Opening threads and then burying them deep like any other thread does not help us.

Thousands of threads were opened like this and everyday we see new threads.

I strongly recommend
(1) Update your profile with true information
(2) Pledge with honesty
(3) Join a state chapter and make yourself visible and available to IV.

We can go from there

There is no other way to organize 70k or more people where everyone just open threads, discuss and then open new threads and discuss and ..... it goers on

I say this from experience - there are people working day and night for IVs cause - with a lot of dedication - there are free riders and majority of people are sitting on fence - want to do something but not quite sure what/how /why and are lost opening these threads and discussing.

Channelizing your frustration, your energies into positive energies will help us achieve our goals. So please decide if you want to move forward and do something about it - State chapters is the best route for contributing towards IV stuff

Chandu - I understand where you come from with your vast experience here. Like i mentioned i am totally new to this site and i am not JUST opening a thread. WE are going to do it. If making the 70k talk is joining the chapter, so be it. Nothing stops us.

Next step is to collect personal informations, see who are nearby meet them in person, arrange conference calls, let the ball rolling

The I485s for both primary and dependent could be filed either if the family or the employment category is current.

i.e. assume my PD is X. If X is current in FB category but not in EB category - both the primary and the dependent should still be able to file I485. Same happens if X is current in EB and not in FB.

In this scenario - if the family based category is retrogressed:
Option 1: Spouce can wait the retrogression out in AP/EAD.
Option 2: Primary can become a citizen in 5 years and then "upgrade" the I485 to a new FB category with no retrogression.

Without this joint filing if either category is current - it can cause nightmares for the dependent if the primary gets a GC and the dependent loses H4/L2.

Some delay could be in the postal office and in your lawyer's mailbox...I'm a July 31st filer and already got my Receipts....it seems that the USCIS Receipting Update is true in my case, but not for others who are still waiting....

I did not know that visa to USA is also a certificate of good behavior. Does Modi needs a visa to USA to prove he is good or bad person or vice-versa ?

Well, every one had choice to be opinionated and I posted what I think think of Narendra Modi. Why, are people so crazy, that they start posting ( BS ) comments with red marks on post.

Not that I give damn about red color, but remarks and PM are unwanted.

I have filed to NSC on August 2nd. Reached the cenetr on August 3rd. I see that many plp filed after me got RN's..anyone else in the same situation as me.

Mine was filed on Aug 1st reached NSC on august 2 nd, No updates yet, called USCIS they asked me to wait for 90 days, I am wondering how other ppl checking the status.

Is it not true that you would need to invest 1 million or so to get the GC ?, i am EB 2 with PD July 09 (not approved yet), my options are, a) go back b) go back c) go back , so i guess we will wait for this CIR, if it does not pass, and if I am still here, then I am outta here :cool:

We are starting with San Jose. On July 14th.

I am not sure if opening SR helps, especially for TSC. I opened SR 30 days ago and still waiting. They have not scheduled me yet for an appointment.

I have seen several July 2nd Filers at NSC whose cases Transferred to TSC are getting receipts.That's good sign...,Does any july 3rd filer got receipt?

I have only seen just one or two cases so far with receipts I mean filed on Jul 2. I myself am a Jul 2 filer NSC filer with TSC approved 140 and haven't gotten anything yet....I also had the LUd on 7/28/07.

I think you can apply for H1 extension as early as 6 months before the expiry.
Your company would definitley know that.

No, we have not tried calling yet. Both are on H1, so just have EAD for just peace of mind. Do let us know what you hear from the customer service.
