I'm happy with Black Ops so far. Let me say this though, i have not touched the Single Player and have only played like 10 minutes of Zombies. So this is from a multi-player perspective.
Pros:
Good Map Variety - I think the maps are well designed. They have a few good places where snipers could actually hide and do their thing. In MW2, good luck finding a hole to crawl into. Generally it was shoot and move.
Points System- I like the points system. It let's me get my gear the way I want it quicker. That helps with my KD Ratio.
Balance - I think this is more balanced than MW2. It gives new players a chance to get in the game while giving experienced players a nicer challenge. No more getting screwed quite as much if you wern't the fastest.
Cons:
Connectivity - I find it very laggy at times. Perhaps that's due to initial server load, but someone needs to fix this
Graphics: While it's Ok, the fire animation is.....
Stupid Killstreaks: Yeah, RC Car, I'm looking at you.
I disagree with everything except for the RC Car...that IS gay.
(Im talking multiplayer here)
justin bieber and selena gomezDoesn't anyone remember that this used to be the case? Right in the beginning, there was a live video feed to all the Apple stores... I went to two of them, both at the Mall of America store (and both times sat next to some very quirky Mac users... y'know... the regular type). Then one year, I went and it wasn't on. I was pissed. Then I learned Apple wasn't doing that because it was too expensive or something.
Seeing the floor traffic of those places, I don't see how it couldn't be lucrative to get passers-by excited about fresh products...
Whatever, I guess.

I went to the Mall of America Apple Store for the live feed of the G5 release. Good times...
justin bieber and selena gomezProblem is Demark, Norway and Sweden are just the first countries to really crack down on DRM like this but they will not be the last. Pulling iTMS away from them might work right now but think long term. The 3 counties will not be the last to do it. Other will follow suit with the DRM. France will at some point get the laws passed since they are pretty close to DRM set up like that with ones that went though so it would not be much of a surpise to see France force DRM to open up there as well. I could see most of the EU at some point forcing the issue.
Should apple pull iTMS away from every country that does that. No it will catch up to them and they will just open up to all. Problem is any country the pulled out of they burned those bridges and will have a very hard time getting back in and will more than likely lose a lot of market share long term by pulling that stunt.
Long term the wises action is for apple to give in and just open it up because those countries are just the first and they most certanily will not be the last.
I have always thought Apple would eventually open up it's DRM of their own free will. At this time, there is no serious competitor to the iPod/iTunes combo. Should serious competition arise, perhaps sometime Zune, the iPods inability to play music from other sources will be a competitive disadvantage.
However, as a philosophical issue, I have a problem with any government interfering like this in a free market! Sometimes such interference is necessary to prevent harm to the public, but I don't see where this is the case with the iPod. It doesn't cause injury to the user, ( if you heed the volume warnings ), and there are alternatives. Those who don't like iPod/iTunes locking them in to one player are fully free to use the alternatives!

4G is a myth
V CAST Media Manager is Verizon's version of Apples walled garden of content sales and control. They are not compatible.
This ought to be interesting. It was a deal breaker the first time Apple pitched the iPhone to Verizon, perhaps this time they've caved, so they could join Apple and hope some of the hype & success slides their way.
This is going to be one interesting movie.... :)

If people have issue with the RC-XD, I have to question if they are even paying attention when they play. You get a call-out when someone launches one, and they are LOUD as hell driving around. Don't get me wrong, I've been killed by them on a number of occasions. Almost every time I did, though, it was because I was careless and walked right into it. Just be more cautious when you hear the call-out that one is around, and you'll probably survive more. I know I did.
Besides, the more people on the other team using the RC-XD, the less people they have using the Spy Plane, so it is a give-and-take thing.
justin bieber et selena gomezIs the difference that Apple is more willing to talk to and play ball with the content providers? Is it that Google has "changing its demands"? Is it about technical concerns? Are the content provides trying to guess who the winning horse will be?
Haha, got to laugh when Google get a set back. As an executive a few months ago said about Google, "it's like negotiating with someone who is autistic".
At the end of the day, Google have tramped over the copyright of all the companies it's trying to get a deal from (think YouTube), chances are that it's also trying to negotiate better terms than Apple with little things like giving everyone else worse terms than them (think the books deal), and so forth.
And frankly, what do Google have to offer the record companies that Apple and Amazon don't?
So think about the autistic comment, think about the terms they will be looking for, and you have to conclude that there is no reason that to think the record companies want or need Google as a partner.
Google aren't bringing new subscribers so the chances are, Google are trying to bring prices down, which will ultimately cost the record companies money.

It's excellent not only in 3D but as a game in general. Levels are just about as varied and as long as they need to be that it never feels like a chore.
3D truly adds to the immersion. You enable it in the options menu (stereoscopic support).

If you don't like reading pro-Apple posts, then you can put me on ignore or hang out on Neowin.
The thing is, we all know you are pro-Apple. That is fine. Everyone can like whatever they want. It is your incessant need to come into any and EVERY thread about their competition just to bash and mud-sling that gets old and makes people hate you. I like Android, but you don't see me going into every single thread on MR about the iPhone bashing it and spreading FUD because of that.
You don't like Windows, MS, Android, Google, RIM, etc, and think Apple is way better. We get it. How about you make a new thread. It could be ["Things I hate" by *LTD*], where you talk ALL about the things that bug you with the competition, and why Apple's version of everything is so much better. That way you, hopefully, won't come in and derail these other threads, where you clearly have nothing of substance to add.
So gizmodo is responsible for this how?
Gizmodo is responsible for this because it vouched for the prankster and obtained a credential for him. Media organizations put their reputations at stake each time they obtain a credential for someone, whether it's to a high school basketball game, a trade show or a political event.
Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't the Windows Live Marketplace in Windows Vista a integrated (badly integrated but still integrated), App Store before it was discontinued due to lack of consumers and made to redirect to a Microsoft website that sold some products?
I believe Microsoft did partner with Digital River to bring 3rd party products to such a store. However it was badly organized, poorly promoted and ultimately drew little business as you indicate since it offered customers little or no benefit over direct purchases from the developer. Developers lost interest. It morphed into the current MS/DR relationship where DR handles much of the on-line sales of MS products.
I sort of hope developers lose interest in the Mac App Store as well. ;) Unfortunately, consumers love the basement pricing.
I had a Apple PowerMac 7100 with an external HD so I could dual boot into an Apple distribution of MkLinux, circa '96 to '99. I may still have the MkLinux CD somewhere.
And before that there was A/UX for some 680x0 desktop Macs, which was too expensive for me to try, IIRC.
I bet they won't be getting press passes again next year to CES.
the deadline i think is Nov. 14 when the Zune is coming out. If passes that I would think maybe at MWSF.
The main goal is the holiday season. After middle of November is too late to launch such a product.
So I have my fingers crossed for the last week of October. That's the perfect timing.
