Plasticolor Day of The DeadHonestly Denmark, Norway and Sweden...
If you don't like it, then get out... Leave it, don't touch it and shut up!
No one is forcing you to buy it, so stop whining... You are not making any sense, you are just acting like desperate little people wanting to bash Apple cause that is the PC way to do things...
Most PC users with an iPod in Scandinavia only rip music and that is all...
So, let me explain it to you, since you don't seem to get it...
IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT... Here it comes... DON'T BUY IT!!!!!!
Stop acting so money hungry... Yeah, Norway wanting to give Apple a fine for their format... Wow... that's rich!
So, if a tiny country (Norway) with a few people wanting money, all they have to do is make a new law that is formulated so that they can "according to their law" say that international companies are violating their laws... Inventive, but very greedy...
There are other ways of getting noticed you know... Like doing something that actually benefits the world... (Max Von Sydow, doesn't count, he was Swedish)
DAY OF DEAD SUGER SKULLI purchased a stay at this Castle. I hope the wife likes it.
What are you doing with a camera shot of my servant's quarters?
Day of the Dead Skull ChestIt's certainly possible that the next version of iLife that will ship with Lion-based Macs will be ad supported and provide a link to MAS to get rid of the ads, but we aren't there yet. ;)
B
I hope that never happens. Ad support apps on mobiles is fine. PCs, I think, is going too far.

iPhone did nothing new. It just took some popular features and combined them. It was more of a game changer due to it being made by apple.
The iphone defined the real smart phone we know today.

no, but you're the only one looking...
Probably, but as I am in the Marketing and Advertising business I will find this quite useful. Many of you are so quick to dismiss the usefulness of this App simply because you don't understand its true purpose.
Day of the Dead Skull PaintingOh... hang on. That sounds awfully familiar. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Microsoft_Works)
They killed Works for Office Starter precisely for this reason. You get basic, ad-supported, functionality with the PC but are actively encouraged to "activate" to a real version of Office. This incentive wasn't there with Works as a separate suite.
EDIT: Apple may be king of the upsell on the hardware front, but Micorosoft is great at in in software.

my question is what would you have McDonalds employees do.
You are asking teenagers to get involved in a fight and try to break it up.
Not really something you expect the average person of the street to do why should teenagers working and McDonalds be any different.
Heck most of the time betting/ fights are over before the brain finishes processing "Is that really happening?" followed by "Should I do anything?" Most of the time they get stuck in an endless loop of not sure what to do and the fight or flight responses takes over.
While the people doing the beating deserve to rot in jail at the same time I would not expect the employees to do anything other than really call the cops. This is one would you expect a person of the street to do something other than really call the cops and it is still over by the time the above loop is completed.
Well I don't know about you but if I saw someone beating the **** out of someone else while I'm working I would certainly get involved. And I would expect the same consideration from others.
If your employed somewhere part of your job is keeping the peace.

I kinda liked the fact i could look at where I've been with my phone.
We kind of liked the fact that we could look at where you've been with your iPhone, too.

Sensible defaults. Usability before looks. The iOS scrollbars might look better but they remove usability. Same with the slider, it's not as intuitive.
Apple should not break intuitiveness and usability just to change some esthetics, especially if this is just change for the same of change.

Any chance that in all this movie related presentation there is an MBP with Core 2 Duo and Blu-Ray burner? that would be one hot movie producing computer.

So when will Real be dead? I have a feeling that after our inevitable nuclear war, it'll just be cockroaches, twinkies and them. At least they'll be in good company.

Are you talking about this link?

If so, I'm not sure how you came up with your statement. It's not even a misreading / misunderstanding. Your statement is just plain wrong.

How much longer is the wait usually?

Here's Bill Gates' house for comparison. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9738CIiY41k)
so far i haven't seen much from "os x " on the iPhone except widgets which is hardly something which defines OS X for me
what revolutionary things does it really have what others don't have ? eyecandy and perhaps easier syncing ? a proximity sensor ? perhaps photo managment and Wlan (but without VOIP)
does the iphone sync with outlook ? if not: say good bye to the business market
it's a nice product, don't get me wrong, but it's expensive for a phone

I voted this negative because Apple won't accept certain apps for doing reasonable things. "dangerous" if done incorrectly, but reasonable.
Until devs can do all of the low level things they need to, this is a bad move.
Think about it. If Apple sells an app (via the Mac App Store) that modifies the system, then they need to take that into account when troubleshooting hardware issues, and can't tell you to eliminate the app they sold you.
