Singer-actress Selena Gomez’s mother Mandy is reportedly going to monitor her daughter’s schedule to ensure she doesn’t fall ill again.

Gomez was rushed to hospital after complaining of nausea and a severe headache last week.

“Selena’s mom is amazing. She doesn’t want to be in the spotlight herself like so many other celebrity parents. Instead, she just wants to make sure that her daughter remains normal while living such an extraordinary life,” contactmusic.com quoted a family friend as saying.

The 18-year-old, who is dating teen sensation Justin Bieber, is currently busy promoting her new movie Monte Carlo. It is believed her grueling schedule contributed to her ill-health.

“Her schedule is insane. She is one of the hardest-working people in show business, but now even Selena knows she needs to slow down. You have no idea how much work goes into promoting a record or film,” said a source.
