Any updates on stock here?

My cable bill makes me want to puke.. I'd hold my entertainment spending up against any on this forum..

I'm refusing to buy the latest CRAP-laden disks, possible-broadcast flag-filled broadcasts, and downloads they're trying to shove down our throats in the future... I'm saying if they want to keep my future business at anywhere near my current rates, they better make the future DRM/Crap/etc more like what we have now, or they will loose sales..

How can that NOT be on their RADAR?

What cable services do you have?

If you have digital cable, you're buying into their DRM.
If you have a cable-company supplied DVR, you're buying into their DRM.

You just haven't seen it really get kicked over yet.

I'm certain TJ MAXX ran this by their legal team...

If they are willing to sell the product at a $100 loss, that's their choice.

But it's not a $100 loss because tjmaxx is buying them for LESS than $499 to begin with from their distributor. So maybe they only lose $65 or $75 per iPad. As most have mentioned here the goal is to get people into the stores. I'm sure tjmax only bought a few per store so there will always be the "sorry we sold out" line and the customer will just hang around and buy something.

Even if tjmax did buy them at full price and lost $100 so what? Do the math if they lost $100 per iPad and bought 300 ipads....that's $30k for a killer ad campaign. And if you've ever been to their stores you will notice they never stock more than like 5 quantity of 90% of their items. Do you really think they are going to have hundreds of ipads per store? No way....more like 10-20 at best.

Serlet joined Steve Jobs at NeXT in 1989, and transitioned to Apple in 1997 when NeXT was acquired and Jobs brought back to lead Apple."I've worked with Steve for 22 years and have had an incredible time developing products at both NeXT and Apple, but at this point, I want to focus less on products and more on science," said Bertrand Serlet, Apple's senior vice president of Software Engineering.

I wonder how many of these posts are trolls? I haven't had any issues whatsoever with 4.3.1. I also didn't have any problems with 4.3; battery life has been absolutely stellar and call performance actually improved in 4.3.1.

The timing of all these "bitching" posts just seems suspicious.

My battery live is much worse since the recent upgrade. Around 25% less battery life. No jailbreak here.

This is the first MWSF in years where there is not a single product, hardware or software, that is ready to ship today.

It's so dissapointing that there was no Leopard, iWork, iLife, not to mention the lack of any actual computer hardware updates.

Like others have mentioned, I care little for AppleTV and a phone that might not be available to buy where I live (UK) for nearly a year. Don't even know why he bothered mentioning a product that won't be ready to ship in any region for half a year, much less spending 90 minutes of a keynote on it.

Worst. MWSF. Ever.

So since there is no answer to my earlier question, I take it that the posters who take issue with the tracking have not bothered to correct the issue on their phone and desktop, which would seem like they care more about posting complaints than being tracked.

Man, this guy is so classy. He should be everyone's hero.

Going to replace the stock HDD with a WD Black 750GB. New to Mac and need to know what's the best way to test for bad sectors and stuff.

I would prefer it to be a thorough type of test before I start using it for important data.

It's sad to see an "old timer" leave Apple, but I'm guessing that Serlet's financially set and wants to do some "pure" research at a university before he retires. Not everyone has that luxury.

It seems that OS X will be left in good hands, though.

I wanted an app that would show me the current month and following month's calendars in a small window, for when I'm planning the next couple of week's activities. I found it as CalendarCenter (http://www.macdev.ca/macos/Freeware.html) from MacDev.ca. It's not elegant but it does just the one trick I wanted. I too am forced to use Lotus Notes at work. Maybe it hasn't been "implemented properly" in my office, but it is a horrible, awful thing. Even common commands are hidden deep inside nondescript menus and any attempt at customizing anything ends with frustration. I would hope that this bloated piece of software crap stays far, far away from the Mac platform forever.

Besides pricing yourself too low and underestimating the time needed to pull-off a project, I picked up on this (your quote).

If you're going to be a professional graphic designer, it's time you got your filing/archiving system down. As you saw on that phone call, a little fumbling around and disorganization doesn't reflect wel and gives your nightmare clients the opportunity to belittle you. Don't give them that opportunity. Be organized.

One final thing. Phone time is meeting time. Meeting time is billable. Especially when the phone calls are over 1/3 of your billable time.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. I do have a pretty good archiving system. I have a folder untitled "freelance" and therein is a folder named after each client and then each project. The guy kind of threw me with the sudden weekend call. You're right about the phone time too. No more mister nice guy; there's no reason to cheat myself for billable meeting time when I'm already lowballing myself.:)
