You all keep saying "they'll never do home button as capacitive because you could accidently rub it and tear you out of your movie/browsing/app/etc".
What if it responded to the accelerometer as well? The latest gem is in Garageband which can register a soft touch to hard tap for instruments through the accelerometer. Honestly I wouldn't mind have a home button that was gesture responsive too. Start with your thumb on the home button, swipe up, right or left for functionality. Or perhaps the home button only responds when you swipe onto it.

I think what the OP really means to talk about is discrimination, not racism.

NYC and San Francisco have toyed with the ideas but so far nothing has come of it. It takes a strong political will to make it happen I'm sure. In the end though, I can hardly see any other viable options for large cities.
The only city I've ever been to which isn't congested is Singapore - and they have excellent public transport, very wide roads, very high taxes on car ownership (this gives some idea (http://www.expatsingapore.com/content/view/1161)) and road pricing in the centre.
Hottie – Sarah BrandnerI bought a Verizon iPad because I have an AT&T iPhone. I figured that if one doesn't work, the other will. I saw no need to get two devices on the same network.
But go ahead, explain to me why that's stupid, since I clearly don't get it and I'm ignorant.
its stupid bc u pay twice for a mobile plan lol why not just tether ... oh wait u can't in the us without additional costs xD nvm
...
sry but i still don't rly understand how it works in the US. there is an "AT&T" iPad, i thought they come unlocked, can't u just go to any store and buy a iPad "3G" and use whatever simcard u want? thats at least how it is here

If the MBP's or other hardware is not updated at this event, then when is the next public event to have this happen?
In This Photo: Sarah Brandner,I also find Pages very unimpressive. I haven't used it more than 20 mins. and that's because I didn't like it. I find Pages uses to much processor resources for a publishing program. I think that may be because of it's RT capabilities.
For the most part I believe the team that designes the UI for Pages and Keynote are not very skilled. I Hate the UI for the 2 apps.

com Sarah Brandner,I was referring to the pic of you when you were working for The Architect on The Matrix plus the fact that, as you rightly said, I only have a nano and not a mini. :(Ah.
'Twas only a joke... I honestly have no idea whatsoever about what sort of iPod mad jew might be packin'. ;)
girlfriend Sarah BrandnerThis is, of course, due to the release of a new version of OS X every 18 months or so compared to the ridiculous periods between Windows versions.
Agreed.

Sarah BrandnerI'm thinking leaving work early on Friday and heading to the Southlake store will be a fun way to start off my weekend. I'm also hoping this isn't as crazy as an iPhone launch. I don't think it will be.
Sarah BrandnerAs I understand it the drugs they use are poisons and the job of the anestisiologist (?) is to give you just enough to nearly kill you and keep that dose constant throughout the op, so your more dead than asleep.
Probably best not to try and fight with the guy trying very hard to not-quite-kill-you!
I guess I never really fight it. I'm out in a heartbeat. I just like to see who long it takes me, which is never long.

Sarah Brandner: Facing EnglandNot that I don't think this rumor is unfounded, but I could imagine a really tiny iPhone nano using the screen, CPU, and OS of the new iPod nano (i.e., no web, camera or apps), especially if it was cheap even with no contract and you could transfer the SIM card from your iPhone and use it as an alternate phone for sports or for girls going out etc. Text entry would be cumbersome, but if you could edit your address book from a PC when syncing, it wouldn't matter as much.
If the iPod Nano is $149 now, perhaps in a year the same parts plus a cell radio could be sold for $149 with no contract, or really cheap ($49 or less) with a contract. I could imagine at that price, parents could buy it for their kids, but due to the limitations it wouldn't cannibalize iPhone sales. It also might serve as a way to enter emerging markets.

EDIT: Actually, Polaroid has almost no presence in the Digital realm (though they do have a couple of crappy models). Hewlett Packard has a significant presence in the Digital Camera market, though...

Yes, MacRumors has it's own IRC, but which one?
http://www.macrumorslive.com/irc/login/ says it's irc.macrumorslive.com and the post you refferenced is irc.krono.net (which doesn't work BTW) the post you linked to was from 2003.

You'll get no argument from me. I blame all of them. See my earlier post.
The real absurdity is that, by and large, the pols who got us into this are the ones we are relying on getting us out.
I say its time we overthrow the republicans and democrats and start a party which is ANTI-CORPORATIONS and is for the people and by the people.. Who's with me?

I'll second that, no intel 3000 will be entering my house
And I doubt that there will be a backlit keyboard again. As I said in the last thread apple took it out for a reason not for fun
The first time I read the title, I thought that Apple has made Soundbooth app. After re-reading it, I realized it was Adobe who made it
Photobooth, Soundbooth, dont they look familiar? ;)
How did they make a x86-only app for OS X? I though the only way app can be compiled for Intel OS X is use of UB format! Guess I was wrong...
Anyway, I dont need this SoundPooth, I'm happy with my Soundtrack Pro :D
Yeah, I get to have my wisdom teeth out next Thursday, so it's anesthesia for me too!Good luck. Let us know how it goes this week.
I hope people try to see beyond the "evil Gubment" spy stuff.
While I'm worried about the government, I'm more concerned about the corporations who would use my information.
Considering how corporations screwed up when it came to administering home loans, you think they'll do any better with your private information?
Talk about a bad idea.
Not Microsoft's market... yet.
They want that peice of the pie. Give them time, they will try to take it.
