That is just it, I have no idea if she that hot because I hardly know her, and physical appearance only goes so far. As far as hiding behind "i dont care" as steeleclipse mentioned, I am not hiding behind it, I am stating a true fact, which myself of all people should realize to be true. If I go there again I am not going to avoid her, I would hope she doesn't feel the urge to avoid me considering I haven't done anything to her, and frankly shopping doesn't require purchases, so I shouldn't be forced to only enter the store when I have a need to purchase, I like to browse. I would not at all be pissed if she dated someone else, for all I know she could be right now and that is great for her. I simply thought she was an attractive and interesting person, and since I have a poor history of initiating contact with women I like, I thought I would ask around. I guess my purpose didn't quite filter in to all of your understandings :p

steeleclipse, I read all of what you were typing, not just the IM portion however that was interesting from a how would one do this? aspect, it was not the focus of my response, only the first paragraph. LOL, yea because one of those large chunks of black plastic is soooo much better looking than the other two. None of the current consoles are "good" looking, if we're being totally honest. They are just boxes, that perform a function. Who cares?

I do like the way my Wii looks on the shelf. Its slick, plain, and small. The console itself just looks classy, especially the black wiis. The wiimotes on the other hand.... I keep those in a drawer so they dont stick out like ugly white remotes.

Did they change/refine the controller?
Not drastically. The Xbox button in the middle is now shiny chrome instead of silver. The analog sticks and d-pad are now black and not dark gray. And I haven't seen this confirmed, but it was mentioned somewhere that the controller will now ship with rechargeable AA batteries, and can be charged with the "Play and Charge" cable, thus not requiring the older battery pack. Again, I haven't seen that confirmed, but that would be nice. But other than the slight tweak in color, same controller.
What I really want is dimensions, or a couple of comparison pictures alongside the original console.
Here is some pics from the reveal on stage. The old console was actually just a shell, with the new one hidden underneath. You can see pretty well in these pics the size difference.

Are you people seriously applauding this? What a waste of our tax dollars!! I do contracts with the Navy every single day and I know that the technology that they have will not be benefited by the use of iPad/iPod/iPhone. The military does not offer wi-fi to their staff on base. Everything is hard wired and the conduit is sealed with a tamper proof silicon. The Government is very very particular about their SIPRnet (as they call it). Without wi-fi, what use is the iPad for the military other than to give them a little treat and waste our tax dollars? They already have mobile equipment in the vehicles that is far superior to Apple's products.

Because COTS products are always cheaper than contracts.

I also find Pages very unimpressive. I haven't used it more than 20 mins. and that's because I didn't like it. I find Pages uses to much processor resources for a publishing program. I think that may be because of it's RT capabilities.

For the most part I believe the team that designes the UI for Pages and Keynote are not very skilled. I Hate the UI for the 2 apps.

First thing that comes to mind is Brasso, but an abrasive such as that might actually tarnish the matte coating around the scratches which would just make it worse. Long story short I think we may be out of luck.

Those with RAID 0 arrays, how are you finally getting the update to install? Do you have to remove your RAID and install from a "spare" OS X single drive that you just happen to have lying around? :confused:

I installed a small OS X on my Data drive and used this installation to process the updates.

Thicker or not, I think the white iPhone is rather odd looking. Looked great online, so we went into the Apple Store to pick one up for my wife. We were both disappointed with the phone in person, however. It just looks like plastic, and the white doesn't seem to work well with where it meets the aluminum.

4S. I like the name, and it makes sense to keep continuity with the previous naming scheme (3GS). I guess we'll see a true iPhone 5 next summer.

I haven't read the whole article yet, but from the sounds of it, it seems as though a laptop can be charged without plugging in it. That is the processor that converts heart to electricity could either charge the battery or provide it's own power to the laptop. That would extend battery life, not sure by how much, but if it is a decent amount, this technology would be great for laptops.

Then again there's the heat issue. While the heat will provide electricity, your going to have to have a decent cooling system, which hopefully wouldn't suck to much power. Or maybe the converted power can be used only for the cooling system leaving the rest for the battery, thus conserving power anyways....just thinking aloud here though. :)

Pretty upset about this one...

I have a Mac Pro with that build. I've had no serious problems. The only odd thing is that sometimes when I when I go into date/time preferences dialog and try to change something in there the color wheel spins for a couple of minutes and then the controls in there don't work right. All the other system preferences appear to work normally. I've had no other problems. Even iTunes 7 works fine.

Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to an update. OS upgrades are always cool.

Ditto here. I have that build and the only problem I have experienced was yesterday, where I couldn't open Photoshop. It just bounced one time in the Dock and nothing else. I had to restart the machine. But, in the 2-3 weeks I have had my Mac Pro that's the only problem I found.

Anyway, 10.4.8 looks really interesting :)
