Katharine McPhee - ChristmasGreat site, not unlike this one:- a lot of people who seem to enjoy a good barney every once in a while. Some N00bs, some real old hands, a good mix!
Been going there for a while. :D
For sure, bigblue's been none of the most helpful forums vie ever used.

My girlfriend saw this and made me one yesterday.. :)
Katharine McPhee - Unbrokenmy answer is yes and no. I'll explain if this puzzles you.
Yes, I did make my Lion a major OS of use on my main machine.
No, I did not upgrade my Snow Leopard installation.
What I did was install it on a partition on a secondary drive in my tower, but I tend to use lion and the snow leopard partitions equally. I usually end up switching back and forth after a week or so of using each. both contain most of the same programs and bookmarks so I can easily do some work no matter which side i'm on, thankfully I haven't had too many issues with programs not working in lion. I did a clean install of lion DP1 and then wiped that and did a clean install of DP2 and have since just done the recommended updates. so yes, I did upgrade my main machine to lion, and no I don't use lion as my sole OS.

I am trying to entire a large number in a cell. 120,511,000,000 to be exact. When entered into a cell, 1.20511E11 is shown.
How can I adjust this to where it will not show up in scientific notation? Thanks!
Katharine McPhee Christmascoming from someone who listens to music almost constantly, i have to disagree. i have a 20+ GB library and i make playlists based on the entire library. in other words they wouldn't fit on a nano. i like hearing a mix of my favorites along with new stuff.
All that music has gone to your head. :p
Both Ipods serve different needs, so I am not going to elaborate into it since it's been written to death. For the OP, the nano is a big leap forward from his shuffle and I see portability is especially important to him. Yeah, yeah, some will argue the regular iPod is portable, but that argument is pretty lame when it's taken on a treadmill.
Would that OP need more space in the future, sure, but that doesn't mean he'll need all the songs at his fingertips at once, unless he likes to have his pants drooped to his knees. 1000 songs will provide over 3 full days of music, thats 72 hours in geekspeak. And probably of that, 100-200 or so are songs he'll want to listen to more than once.

so, yes, don't bother renting a car and just use BART. enjoy your trip to the bay area! are you going to try to make it to the apple headquarters in cupertino? BART doesn't go that far south, so you'll need to find some connecting public transportation systems to get there...

Yes, I still live with my parents. Does renters insurance cover say for example if my gear gets stolen while I'm on vacation too?
more...Katherine McPhee, AnotherNot sure why you didn't just move along instead of posting a snide comment. I read the product review and saw a variety of answers. I came here to confirm them
I read that you have to go to sound in system preferences and change the output to tv once you hook the cord up. Can you confirm that works?
Yes this'll work. I don't know why dqpassat is having problems though as the cpu speed has nothing to do with this.

Thanks for letting us know.
Is it exactly the same ad as in the screenshot above, or a similar one? We may need a new screenshot, and we need to have the latest URL it links to.
Katharine McPheeMy wife has downloaded a couple of movies via itunes but for the life of me I have burned through dvd after dvd and cant get them to work. He keeps telling me I have a data error when I pop the DVD into one of our players.
What am I doing wrong?
You can't just burn movies downloaded from iTunes to DVD and have it work in your DVD player. Watch them on your computer or stream them to an Apple TV.

I've held off on 10.6.4 because of Photoshop CS5 slowdown reports. This update was heavily beta tested from what I remember. Lots of problems. I guess I'll wait till 10.6.5.
Have you actually installed the latest Photoshop update (12.0.1)?
From a financial standpoint, I think he'd be wasting his money, spending extra for a pressure sensitive kybd.
It's not like there is a lack of small, affordable keyboards, even with velocity-sensitivity. Take the Korg Nanokey for example. To be honest I think it would be harder finding a quality keyboard that isn't pressure sensitive...

Apple.com search reveals PowerBook G5 appears in article posted on Apple.com (http://www.apple.com/education/hed/academia/creative/architecture.html)...
Late april fools I think. Looks like a typo. Maybe the writer had G5 on the brain?
I don't see it.

I'm with the others here. Spymac has really lost it, big time! I don't even have it bookmarked anymore. I hope MR never turns the same way...
And just now the site took a minute or two to fully load these pages.
