I am doing a website for a client and they have sent me their logo.

The design is pretty basic but the image they sent me doesn't quite do it justice.

I was wondering if anyone could knock up a slightly sleeker looking logo?

Does anyone really use Illustrator CS to it's abilities to create vector artwork on the scale of photographic portraits?

My Illustrator class instructor does and one of our assignments was to do something of that depth. I'll try to dig up the website, if you're interested.

The point is, it ISN'T corrupted, and I have tried resaving pictures. There is nothing wrong with the pictures themselves, and my first thought was that it was Apache (2.0.52) but I don't see how that could be the problem.

After a little more testing, they load fine when I use localhost as the address, but not when I use the no-ip address.

At least 5.0.3 works (launched it from my SL partition).

Well I have 5.0.3 and works with many bugs like don't let add bookmarks and doesn't reopen last closed tabs completely

Couldn't he just move the files to the Mac, then back once the external is reformatted?

Also, I would suggest finding a way to backup all the files from your old microsoft laptop BEFORE doing any moving of files or reformatting. One never knows when a HD failure will occur. Can the OP burn backup DVD's using the mac but with files from the external drive? Better to be safe than sorry.

Do fonts even work cross platform to warrant even keeping them?

The SL disc you have may not have the version of OS X needed for your MBA. MBA shipped after SL was released this e.g. 10.6.0 may not work. Call Apple and ask them to send you a replacement installation media, it shouldn't cost more than 20$ or so.

Many years ago I did things like that with CGIs and Perl. I just did a quick search and found this page: http://www.hawkwings.net/plugins.htm

It looks like you can script Mail with AppleScript. Take a look at the extensive list. There might be just what you need there. Or you might find something close that can be modified to do the job.

Okay, it's animated now, but that pushed the file size up from 103 to 245 octets. I hope the server can handle it.

I would love, love, LOVE to help. But I'm so time-strapped right now I'm not even keeping up with Nintendo Players adequately. Part-time IT job + student = suckage.

I'm all with BanjoBanker. Totally addicted to my iPhone. It's the ultimate portable device, incredibly versatile and proves its handiness in countless situations day in and day out. And you don't need to carry 2 devices (phone and pocket computer)

But there are some downsides, too, most notably the smaller screen. If you'd like to have some screen space for some more serious work, such as writing, movies, pictures, editing, reading etc., then get the iPad. Sure, you need a bag and carry it around.. but depending on the things you want to do, it might be worth it. Also, if you plan to use the device as portable (bedroom) device at home (reading books, watch pics/movies), the iPad is hard to beat.

Still, my vote goes to the iPhone...

if you buy the 2010 quad 2.8 these are your best choices
