Considering the Mini got bumped lately do you reckon that's very likely?
Yes.
I'm sure Apple will progress the Mini to C2D when they Macbook is updated. The Mini only received a minor speed bump the last time around and I bet it had more to do with keeping consistant pricing than it did with updating a product.

lack and white patternsIf a store's inventory uses RFID, then a retail associate could quickly locate merchandise if their iPhone was able to detect RFID signals. Walking up to a wall of jeans and being able to instantly find the size and style you need in a mess left after a big sale would be a great time saver. The employee could also take inventory just by walking through the department.

wow this makes my $499.99 40GB HDD PS3 look like ________ :o
A mistake? Unless I'm mistaken, when the 40GB PS3 was released, it was $399, and the 80GB version was $499. At least, those were the normal prices when I bought my 40GB.

lack and white flowersWow, all the critical reviews to pay or not to pay, pre installed or dl on the fly. As I see it, both have draw backs as mentioned, but my general pref, is that it should dl at least your surrounding area. So Garmin (39.99), Tom Tom (39.99), Navigon (44.99), Google (free), Motion X ($2.99) etc. for US major apps.
And yet not one sole mentions Map Quest 4 Mobile (free), dl on the fly and I have never had an outage issue.
I do prefer a stand alone gps though. Therefore I don't see spending more for a secondary gps/backup on my mobile.
And for what its worth, currently using a Garmin 265WT, with traffic. I do have some slant toward Garmin as I use a eTrex Vista. On the iPhone I have all the bold apps. I prefer the Map Quest of all the boldfaced ones.
Changing gears on subject, GPS IIF, SV-1 launched end of May 2010 and SV-2 soon, accuracy will only get better!

White And Blue SeamlessPicked up a 32 gig last night for $399. I had a choice between a 16 gig and the 32 gig. Those were the only two they had left in inventory. I figured since I'm going to be using this for quite a while, I'd go ahead and get the 32. I was glad they had a couple left. :D

lack and white patterns andNobody is saying you can't discriminate against someone who's shoved a gun in your face and asked for all the money in your cash register.
However, what's your rationale for discriminating against someone who has sat down at a table and wants to order a hamburger and fries?
Males are far more likely to commit violent crimes than females. If you were worried about statistics, then it would make sense to open an "ladies only" establishment.
I'm pointing out just how ridiculous discrimination is ;)

Of course I can see the other side of this. Writing universal apps is not just a matter of "checking a box" in XCode; despite what I've heard some non-coders say on the subject.
Umm, I'm far from a non-coder. Writing a new app is very much an issue of "checking a box" in XCode. The problems come in when dealing with a years-old code base, much of which has embedded processor assumptions (ranging from hand-tweaked assembly to direct vector calls to assumptions on byte order).
New code, though, you know that you have to support multiple CPU architectures and so you call htons for your byte ordering and use vector libraries rather than direct calls; the sole remaining issue is hand-tweaked assembly, which should be significantly less than 1% of your overall application code especially if you are putting out a new product (you typically don't have enough knowledge to find the bottlenecks where going straight down to the metal is required until your app has been out in users' hands for a while). With all that absorbed in "the process", the only thing left is, yes, checking the box in XCode to generate the UB version of your app.
There's a bit more involved at the compile stage if you want to support both UB and older OS versions (Panther, Jaguar), but it's a lot easier to tell your customers that they have to upgrade to Tiger on their old G4s and G5s than to tell them they have to buy a whole new machine!
pattern in lack and whiteHe's a shady character. The bankruptcy thing really bothers me. Once is bad enough. But 3 times? I know how these bankruptcy hearings go and aside from the fact that assets are hidden, other people have to eat the losses.

haha, i wonder what the breakdown would eventually be
Being in a Red State, I have noticed this week that the availability of bottles with caps is getting lower. Also since I use the "tilt" method, I am seeing fewer bottles with winning iTunes, and more with BOGO.
Though to be honest it would seem that it would in Pepsi's best interests to get the bottles in the hands of maybe the top 25 to 50 metro areas. Now that would be an interesting map to see.
There is no such thing as a "crop camera"
FOVCF is the technical term for a crop sensor or crop camera. It stands for FIELD OF VIEW CROP FACTOR, whereby the sensor doesn't see the full image projected from a standard 35 mm format lens (EF lens in this case)
Nikon also created a FULL FRame camera a while back that also had the ability to create a "cropped" image to increase it's rate of capture to achieve results in FPS that were similar to canon's 1D series bodies. Effectively if it captured less pixels per image, it could do so faster.
I'm not claiming to say that these ads have hurt or helped boost the market shares...I'm only saying that I have only heard negative things about them.
I feel embarrassed watching them.
I personally believe that the market share has risen because of the intel switch. The ads happened to come out at the same time so it's impossible to know how they've affected the market share, but either way I really don't like them. It's not the actors either... definitely the elitist script.
I like that Shaun White ad where he narrates what he does with his computer and this stunt guy (you can only see his torso) is reaching and grabbing at nothing that was edited later to appear as if what he was grabbing at were his folders/documents/songs/etc... Pretty clever. And no snobbishness (yeah that word rocks) either.
Did I mention I like Ellen Feiss?
I don't think the Apple ads are elitist or snobish, however I do think the HP ads are very cool. By showing what the computer can do in a slick, sci-fiction way, the ads sell the HP computer in a way that the Mac vs. PC ads don't
If Apple's seeing increasing market-share it because they're finally trying to sell the computer and it's this ad presence that is working. The commercials' content doesn't really work, but only die-hard geeks can really get fired up for these commercials.
For Joe Sixpack, the commercials remind him that Mac exist, they're cool and they do neat stuff. And that's the good part.
The bad part is some people think they're being insulted, and some of those people will matter when it's time to buy a computer.
Apple should've gone the HP way, show how cool the computer is and stop mentioning the PC at all.
However, during WWDC, take a shovel to Microsoft is so inclined, that's a time to stir the troops into a fury.

With their proprietary dock connector becoming ubiquitous in cars and airplanes, it's only a matter of time before the government uses anti-trust law to crack down on Apple. Not because they really believe iPod dominance threatens the "public good" (whatever that is), but because it will be a way to extort protection money from Apple (i.e. campaign contributions) and sell government services (regulatory predation) to their competitors.
IMO
