I think there is definitely a market that would buy these things, I mean some people do pay $15,000 for a TV right, and I think there are plenty of labs and such that use Apple's and could use a 30" screen. And as far as the current economy goes, this is rumored to be a year or more away so that isnt really an issue either, they also stated that it would have the same resoulion as the 23" one now. The digital lifestyle device is a tough one though, there are so many rumors about PDA's and phones that's it's almost impossible to say.
Personally if it was one of those two I think it would be the phone, Jobs has stated before that PDA's may be ancient and pointless now and "one day you won't even think about using a (cell?) phone without a computer...)

Explosions in the Sky is a great band. I love listening to them while I'm a bit higher up if you know what I mean.

I like it. However, I'm not crazy about the fonts used in it or that the controls are always on.

It doesn't require any hardware changes. All Broadcom WiFi chips that Apple uses already support WAPI.

Can you take the check to the company store and have them do a special/bto order, so you pay there but get it sent to you from the factory?

I have to take the check to the store. I'm just not sure what their policy is on upgrades. I read on the forums that sometimes they keep iBooks with bigger HD's in stock because it's a popular upgrade.

The Nikon line, with digital ICE (as mentioned above) are a very capable line. I have the earlier Coolscan 4000, with the optional (but critical) scan feeder. It costs more, but when scanning thousands of images it was well worth it.

I believe the new Coolscan 5000 line is both improved and cheaper, so I'd look into that if you have a large quantity of images to scan.

My feeder (I believe they've modified the current feeder) needed a few modifications (searchable via google) to work with thinner cardboard mounts, but once done it worked fairly well. Plastic mounts were never a problem. Of course one had the odd jam, and all images still needed the normal digital darkroom work in Photoshop. But that's standard for every image.

Edit - Just saw your "25,000 images to scan". Be sure to get scanning ASAP - I find that my limit is about 100 per day, allowing time for each image in photoshop.

If I was you, i'd be more selective and only scan the images you were at least considering printing

I frown upon WoW as well... I just don't see why it is so fun, its expensive, it requires insane amounts of time, its not competitive, it requires no skill...

Another good multiplayer FPS is Battlefield 2142 - really fun if you get the right squad and server.

Cant blame them, they probably got more important things to focus on than patching jailbreaks.
Hope they become more lenient on JB in general.

That article provides some insight. In general, it has to be clearly defective before Apple will replace it. For current Macs it is 1000 cycles until it should drop below 80% but of course, Apple won't replace it if it has 999 cycles and it is at 79%.

I saw phones in Japan two years ago that had cameras, pictures, email, text messaging, web browsing, and a kitchen sink that were tiny tiny tiny. It's about time the US gets even half of those features.
The real kicker is the use of the technology. In japan the imode phones will email you a coupon to the video store for a new release that you've been waiting for while you're on your way home from work. Show the phone with the coupn displayed at the checkout and they give you a couple hundred yen off.
Good use of the features is what will make the real difference.

That's an interesting thought. It appears to me that the Airport Card is a regular PCMCIA card, but without the head which in third-party cards has the aerial in. Hence the need to plug the aerial in to it when installed IN a Mac.

So couldn't you buy a regualr PCMCIA 'g' card, take the had off it and install it in the Airport slot?

To try and answer my own question - In theory yes, but I'm sure if it was that simple Apple would have done it. On the other hand, it does make it more of a perk to upgrading your Mac, which is ultimately what Apple want.

Stick it to the recording studios... as long as the prices don't increase to compensate their greedy little pockets.
I think you mean labels not studios. Most of the people working at studios work very hard for not much pay.

I can assure you, at $70, the A Jays Fours are no where near "higher end".

My default set of IEMs is the Klipsch x10i. I have yet to find anything as punchy and detailed and simultaneously comfortable. They put the A Jays Fours to shame.

They CANNOT be compared. Two totally different IEM's. Two totally different prices.

I purchased Logic Studio (Pro Logic 9 version) in mid December last year. I'm on a steep learning curve having moved over from Cubase SX3. I was facing the prospect of an upgrade fee to the latest Cubase and buying some other music utilities or jumping ship and paying full price on Logic Studio. Well, I'm happy to say that I'm able to do everything I was doing before using Cubase with Logic Studio plus much more. It's not a 100% clear to me how it compares with the latest Cubase 5, which now integrates many more features than in SX3, but it seems that a lot of Steinberg's sampling stuff (Halion) still has to be bought separately. I'm also really getting to love the Logic Studio interface. I've imported a few of my really complex projects now that included multiple live recorded band audio tracks, overdubbed audio tracks and some step time, real time and score entered MIDI tracks and working on them is much easier. The audio editing features are superior, plus the MIDI stuff sounds much better.

It was mentioned above about purchasing a MIDI interface. I already had one because I was using a JV-1010 synthesiser with Cubase, but now, with Logic Studio, the included synthesisers have sounds that are superior in quality and editing features that leave it for dead, plus you get a fully featured sampler which is just awesome. (I normally don't talk like that but I'm not sure how else to put it, it's freaking awesome.) I've already started building up instruments based on my own recorded samples as I'm interested in composing using sounds sampled from sources other than instruments. I guess you could call it musique concr�te, but I have my own ideas about what it is. Anyway the upshot is that my JV-1010 is taking a back seat and only getting dusted off when I need to check a project that needs exporting from Cubase to Logic Studio.

Personally i think that they both should just play nice.

I mean why doesn't Apple just do what they did with the Apple TV. Throw the Apple Logo in front of it. Then Linksys should do the same.

Well, after it reboots it is booting to the CD but it comes up with the intial install screen all over again.

What is weird is the last thing it does before it reboots is the system optimization which I think is the very last thing that happens before the install is complete. But it is still on the first CD.
